Here's a step by step guide for updating your Handy based on your Firmware.
Updating in Handyverse
The new hub for The Handy, The Handy 2 and The Oh!, handyverse.com, is specifically optimized for the newest Firmware.
For best results, use this platform to manage updates safely and avoid outdated notices on the old website.
Plug your Handy into the power supply
Connect your Handy to the internet via the Action Button.
Go to new.handyfeeling.com
Connect your Handy via the connection button on the top right of the page
Select Configure Device on the left side menu under Settings
Click on the Updates Button
If there is a new update, you should be prompted to update here
Follow the process for updating and let the device restart on it's own
After restarting, your device has successfully updated and is ready for use.
Additionally, you may encounter compatibility issues such as the Old Handyfeeling website flagging Firmware 4 as outdated and raises a false update notice.
Switching to handyverse.com is the recommended solution for these alerts.
Updating via Handy Onboarding App (Firmware 4 and 3)
When using the Handy Onboarding app, you will be prompted to update your device at the very end of the configuration but there are differences depending on the Firmware.
They both started the same, enter your device in Bluetooth mode and let the app find it.
Once it is found, you will be prompted to agree with Terms and Conditions, afterwards you will be prompted to configure network, exactly the same as your first time configuring the network.
But if you're in Firmware 3, you will need to follow further instructions to restart the device and boot it into Wi-Fi mode. It should look like this:
Follow the instructions and when your Firmware 3 Handy connects, it should be identified and move on to the final step, prompting you to update your firmware to the newest available one in Firmware 4.
