How to Add the LocalMessages Widget on Your Website

The LocalMessages widget allows customers browsing your website to send you a text directly, making communication quicker and more efficient

Adding the LocalMessages widget to your website is an excellent way to boost customer engagement. This widget lets visitors send you text messages instantly, improving the overall customer experience


Follow this step-by-step guide to integrate the widget into your website

1. Log into your OneLocal account here

2. From your OneLocal home screen, navigate to the Settings section by selecting it from the left-hand menu panel

3. Click on LocalMessages from the Settings menu

4. Click on Widget to proceed to the widget customization page

5. On the Design page, customize how your LocalMessages widget will look on your website. Adjust the appearance to match your brand’s style

6. Once you're happy with the design, click the Integration tab at the top of the page. Copy the code snippet provided

7. Paste the copied code into the HTML of the webpage, inside the <body> tag. If you're unsure how to do this, share the code with your website designer for assistance


For WordPress Users

If you use Wordpress as website management, after point 7 you can follow steps bellow:


1. Log in to WordPress

Log in to your WordPress account at https://yourdomainname.com/wp-admin

2. Install the HFCM Plugin

In the left-hand menu, click Plugins, then Add New

3. In the search box, type HFCM

4. Once you see the plugin, click Install and then Activate

5. In the left-hand menu, click HFCM, then select Add New

6. Fill out the following fields:

  • Snippet Name: LocalMessages Widget

  • Site Display: Site Wide

  • Location: Footer

  • Device Display: Show on All Devices

  • Status: Active

7. Paste the copied snippet into the Snippet/Code text box


8. Click Save

9. Then, refresh your live website to see the widget in action


For SquareSpace Users

1. Log in to SquareSpace

Log in to your SquareSpace account and click Edit Site

2. Navigate to Code Injection

In the left-hand navigation, click Settings, then Advanced, and select Code Injection

3. Paste the widget code snippet into the FOOTER box at the bottom of the page. You’ll be able to preview your website on the right side of the screen to confirm the code was added correctly

4. Once added, refresh your live site to view the LocalMessages widget


For Wix Users

If you use Wix as website management, you're going to add the code there.

1. Log in to Wix

Log in to your Wix account and select Edit Site from the bottom left


2. Open Tracking & Analytics

In the editor menu at the top, click Settings, then Tracking & Analytics

3. Add a Custom Tool

Click + New Tool, select Custom, and paste the widget code snippet into the provided field


4. Paste the code snippet here:

5. Name the Code

Name your code “LocalMessages Widget” and click Apply. Make sure to leave the settings as “All Pages” and “Body-End.”

6. Refresh Your Website

Finally, refresh your live Wix website to view the widget
