How to add the LocalMessages Widget on your website
How to add the LocalMessages Widget on your website

The LocalMessages widget lets customers browsing your website to send you a text!

We have created a LocalMessages widget to help you to maximize the conversational efficiency between you and your customers. 

If you are having any issues please contact your OneLocal Marketing Specialist to help guide you through the process! 

1. Log into your OneLocal account here.

2. From there you will see your OneLocal home screen, look to the far left menu panel and select "Settings"

3. Click "LocalMessages"

4. Click "Widget"​

5. This brings your to the Design page, here you can customize how your LocalMessages widget will look like one your website

6. After you are done customization, click the "Integration" tab at the top of the page

7. Copy the snippet and paste it into the html code of the website page inside the <body>. If you have a website designer who can help you with this, simply share the code with them.


Wordpress

If you use Wordpress as website management, after point 7 you can follow steps bellow:

8. Log in to your WordPress account:

9. On the left hand navigation click Plugins then click Add New

10. In Keyword search box type: HFCM

11. Look! It's showing the plug in below. Click Install, and then when it's done, click Activate

12. In your left hand navigation, scroll and click HFCM, then click Add New

13. Fill in the fields bellow:

  • Snippet Name: LocalMessages Widget

  • Site Display: Site Wide

  • Location: Footer

  • Device Display: Show on All Devices

  • Status: Active

14. Paste the snippet you copied from you OneLocal Dashboard into the Snippet/Code text box


15. Click SAVE

16. Navigate back to your live site, refresh your page and you're all set.


SquareSpace

If you use SquareSpace as website management, you're going to add the code there.

8. Log in to your SquareSpace account. Click "Edit Site"

9. On the left hand navigation, click "Settings"

10. Click "Advanced"

11. Click "Code Injection"

12. Paste the code snippet you created in your OneLocal dashboard to the end of the code in the "FOOTER" box.

NOTE: you will be able to preview your website on the right half of your screen to see that the code was added correctly.

13. Navigate back to your live site, refresh your page and you're all set.


Wix

If you use Wix as website management, you're going to add the code there.

8. Log in to your Wix account.

9. Click "Edit Site" at the bottom left to access your Wix Editor for the site where you want to install the LocalMessages Widget.

10. Click Settings at the top editor menu bar and select "Tracking & Analytics".

11. Click "+ New Tool" and select "Custom".

12. Paste the code snippet here:

13. Name your code 'LocalMessages Widget'

14. Click "Apply".


Note: Leave All pages - Load code once and Place Code in: Body-End selected.

15. Refresh your live website to view your Widget!
