If you're interested in setting up OneLocal's new LocalPhone service but don't want the hassle of updating your business phone number, you're in luck!

We can assist you in porting your phone number over to Twilio (OneLocal's phone service provider) so you can continue using the same business number without having to update your website, online profiles, and various other places you may advertise your business phone number. This guide will explain the steps for porting your phone number to ensure a smooth transition.

Step 1: Fill Out the Twilio Letter of Authorization

The first step is to complete and sign the Twilio Letter of Authorization. You can find the form linked here

Step 2: Notify Your Current Provider

Inform your current phone provider that you want to port your phone number to Twilio. They will require the following information:

  • First and Last Name: The main user on the account

  • Phone Number to Port: The main business line you want to transfer

  • Business Address: Must be a physical address (PO Boxes are not accepted)

  • Copy of Recent Phone Bill: Ideally within the last 30 days

  • Signed Letter of Authorization: The document you completed in Step 1

  • Customer Service Record (CSR): You may need to contact your provider to obtain this information

Ensure all information is accurate and complete. Any discrepancies could delay or deny your request

Step 3: Wait for the Porting Process to Complete

Porting a number can take up to 4 weeks. During this time:

  • Keep Your Current Service Active: Avoid interruptions by maintaining service with your current provider until the porting is complete

  • Be Patient: Twilio will confirm the porting date, which is when your number will be active in Twilio and OneLocal

Step 4: Cancel Service with Your Existing Provider

Once the porting process is complete and your number is active in Twilio, you can cancel service with your previous provider

Additional Information

Please note that there are specific porting requirements for different countries. For more information on country-specific guidelines, please check Twilio's Porting Guide.
