It is currently not possible to change the nameservers of a Wix domain (edit NS records).
To change the nameservers, you must transfer your domain from Wix to another provider.
⚠️Important: If you transfer your domain away from Wix, contact information, DNS settings and renewal payments for your domain will be managed in your new provider's account.
⚙️To transfer your domain away from Wix, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Open your domain page
Open WIX, log in and open your domain page.
Step 2: Select “Transfer away from Wix”
Click on the icon for domain actions next to the relevant domain and select Transfer away from Wix.
📌Note: After you have checked the information for the transfer of your domain, click on Transfer domain.
Step 3: Click on “Transfer anyway”
Click on Transfer anyway. WIX will send you an authorization code for the transfer (EPP code) to the contact email address provided.
Once you have received the code, follow the instructions from your new domain provider to transfer your domain.
📌Note: Once your new domain provider enters the EPP code to initiate the transfer, you can use the Whois search tool to check that the transfer has been initiated. Open the tool to check the status. Search for your domain and then check the Status field. This should show “Transfer Pending” if the transfer has been initiated.
