In many states, free/reduced lunch benefits carry over from one school year to the next and remain valid for 30 days. However, families must submit an application during the current school year to continue receiving benefits. In jmc, we've simplified the process for identifying students who have not yet submitted an application for the current school year but are receiving carryover benefits from the prior year with the "Missing Application Check" report. Simply set your "Effective Date" to review students who haven't submitted an application, then click a button to update their status to "Paying".

To review students with a missing application and quickly update their lunch status to paying, navigate to Lunch > Reports > Missing Application Check.

Step One: Place a checkmark in the "All" checkbox to select all students with missing applications for free/reduced from the previous year.

Helpful Tip: Want to select individual students? No problem! Place a checkmark in the checkbox next to the student's ID.

Step Two: Enter a date in the "Effective Date" field to create a list of students that have not yet submitted an application for educational benefits as of the date specified.

Helpful Tip: Enter the 30th school day in the "Effective Date" field and click the "Change Status to Paying Student" button to change the free/reduced lunch status to paying for students whose educational benefits have expired.

Fun Fact: The "Change Status to Paying Student" button automatically updates the students free/reduced status to "Paying" throughout the lunch module.

Step Three: Click the "Print" button to print a list of students without a current educational benefits application on file, which can be used as a reference when reminding families to submit their application.
