The Message Center in jmc Office centralizes your school’s outbound communication tools, making it easy to send emails, text messages, and phone calls to the right audiences. Use flexible filtering and multiple message types to select students, families, and contacts, then deliver messages in their preferred language with just a few clicks.
Log in to jmc Office and navigate to Message Center > Send Messages to begin sending individual emails, texts, or phone calls.
Step One: Select the appropriate radio button in the "Select" box to filter the student contacts who will receive your message.
Sequential: consecutive student ID numbers
Random: a custom selection of one or more students entered by name or student ID
By Grade: students filtered by grade level and optionally by gender
Advisor: students assigned to a range of advisor IDs
Course: one or more courses entered by course name or teacher name
Activity: one or more activities
Bus Route #: students assigned to a bus route number
Random Contact: a custom selection of one or more contact names
Tag: a customized label assigned to students to help differentiate groups
Step Two (optional): Place a checkmark in the "Include Community Members" checkbox and and choose the appropriate radio button to include contacts from your school’s Community Messenger portal.
Step Three: Select the appropriate radio button from the "Message Type" box to indicate the type of message(s) to send.
Step Four: Place a checkmark in the appropriate checkbox(es) to identify which contact types associated with the selected recipient filter should receive the message.
Contacts: all primary and secondary contacts
Primary Contacts Only: primary contacts only
Students: student cell numbers
Step Five: Select the "Send Now" radio button to queue the message for immediate delivery, or select the "Schedule Time" radio button to choose a future date and time using the calendar and clock icons.
Step Six: Click the "OK" button to verify the selected contacts and begin creating your message.
Helpful Tip: After clicking the "OK" button, review your message recipients by selecting the "Contact Records Found" and "Student Records Found" links.
Step Six: Enter information in the appropriate fields based on the message type to compose your message.
Fun Fact: jmc delivers messages to families in their preferred language. Simply enter your message once, and jmc handles real-time translation based on each recipient’s language preference.
Helpful Tip: Update a family's preferred language by navigating to Attendance > Contacts > Edit Contacts to ensure school communications are sent in the correct language.
Step Seven: Click the "Send" button to send your message.
Helpful Tip: Monitor the status of your outgoing message by navigating to Message Center > Message Status.
Step Eight (optional): Click the "Reset" button, then follow steps one through seven to create another message.
