Use the jmc Sandbox

The jmc Sandbox is the perfect way to experiment with different jmc tools and modules without impacting your active school data.

The jmc Sandbox is an inactive replica of your district’s live jmc site, including all buildings, portals, modules, and current data. It provides a separate environment where staff can explore features, test configurations, and train before implementing changes. Schools commonly use the Sandbox to test scheduling updates, evaluate grading workflows, explore Tuition and Fees, train new staff, and review new processes prior to district-wide implementation.

Request and Access a jmc Sandbox

To activate a Sandbox site, contact the jmc Sales Team, who will coordinate with Support to add the Sandbox to your site agreement and complete setup.

Once activated, your district will receive a unique Sandbox URL that is completely separate from your live site. Office staff and teachers can log in using their existing credentials, which function the same way in the Sandbox as they do in the live site.

Office user access and privileges are managed on the Application Security page within the Sandbox. Teacher access to the jmc Teacher portal is assigned on the Attendance > Staff > Teachers page in the jmc Office Sandbox.

Using a jmc Sandbox site

A jmc Sandbox allows each group to explore tools based on their role:

  • jmc Office: Experiment with Attendance, Schedules, Grading, Discipline and Communication, Health, Lunch, Tuition and Fees, Standards and Benchmarks, the Form Designer, jmc Family settings, and the Teacher Conference Scheduler without triggering state reporting or sharing information with families.

  • jmc Teacher: Explore the Scores or Competency-Based Gradebook without affecting student grades, and test tools in the Discipline, Communication, Teacher Conference Scheduler, and Attendance modules.

  • jmc Family and jmc Student: Log in through the Family and Student portals to experience jmc from a parent or student perspective, review academic, attendance, and discipline reports, and navigate the online registration process to understand how information is presented to families.
