Schools have several options for tracking special education data including third party applications such as SEEDS, SpEd Forms, or OASYS. If your school chooses to utilize an external platform for tracking special education, you can still utilize jmc for running various membership reports and for viewing special education history data. Simply import special education data via the WISEdata API to transfer those records into jmc.

To get started, head to Wisconsin > Special Education History > Update Special Education History from Ed-Fi API.

Step One: Click the "Update" button to import Special Education History items from a 3rd party application.

Helpful Tip: To view special education data for an individual student head to the View Student Data page and click on the "SpEd tab" after the import is complete.

Fun Fact: The "Update" button is disabled until you have the SSEPA settings disabled in jmc to avoid dual submission of special education state reporting data. To disable the SSEPA settings, have a jmc Administrator head to File > Administrator Options and click the "Ed-Fi Settings" link. Then, remove the checkmark from the "Enable Posting of Ed-Fi Special Education (SSEPA) Resources" and click the "Save" button.

Step Two: Click the "Print Summary" button after you have updated special education history records via Ed-Fi API to print a copy of the records that were transferred over or click the "Cancel Summary" button to return to the Wisconsin > Special Education History > Update Special Education History from Ed-Fi API page.
