Q. What are 9 Hole Events?

A. 9 Hole Events are the term we use for Operation 36 play days that you host during your season for your participants. These are run in addition to the group coaching sessions that you host weekly.

These can be looked at like your beginner league that happens throughout your season. This league (9 Hole Event Series) can be run weekly, bi-weekly, or even monthly. It is completely up to your staffs schedule, and tee-time availability.

For an Operation 36 Program to be a "true program", hosting a minimum of one 9-hole event for your students a month is necessary. We know most coaches are used to only running weekly coaching sessions, which is why we are continuing to invest in the technology to combine coaching and play tools so your team has every tool you need to develop your players.

Your job as a coach is to:

  1. Host the event

  2. Log the scores of the event

  3. The app will automatically track the scores and reward students when they level up, or beat their scores by one.

Why are the 9 hole events so important?

Getting beginners to actually experience playing the game is core to running a successful Operation 36 program. Our goal is to make managing these events as simple as possible with the Operation 36 Technology.

In fact, we've found in our fourteen years of research and development that getting beginners on the golf course is one of the top indicators for retaining students in any beginner golf program no matter what model you're teaching. If students never play, they will never record a score and the narrative of wanting to improve will never be open.
