What Are Contact Tags?

A contact tag allows you to add additional labels to your contacts. Once your tags have been applied to a contact, you can filter by the tags on your Contacts page to create different Contact Tables or Segments.

To learn more about using a contact tag with your contacts, check out this article: Applying a Tag to a Contact.

Otherwise, continue reading to learn more about how contact tags are created, edited, and deleted.

Adding a Contact Tag

To add a new tag that can be used on your contacts, go to your hammer icon and select Filters from the list.

From there, choose Contact Tags. This will open up a section where you can add the title before clicking the Create Tag button.

Please Note:

All contact tags are shared with every user in your organization.

Editing a Contact Tag

On the right side of the Contact Tags page, you will see a list of all contact tags in the organization. To edit any of the tags, click on the tag name. This will change the background color to purple, letting you know you're editing it.

Make your updates and then press Return/Enter on your keyboard for the changes to save.

You also have the option to color-coordinate your tags. Click on the circle next to the tag title to open your color selector. Pick out the color that works best for the tag.

Select No Color from the options if you need to remove the current color.

Deleting a Contact Tag

To delete a contact tag, click the trash icon to the right of the tag title.

A pop-up will appear where you will confirm the tag deletion by typing the word Delete into the text box.
