Casting allows you to share what you are seeing in your VR headset with others around you.

Examples: Laptop, Desktop Computer, In-room projector that is connected to a computer
Connect your Quest2 Headset and computer to the same WiFi network.
Open a Google Chrome browser on your computer.
Go to oculus.com/casting and log into your Meta or Facebook account.
Put on your headset and press
on your right hand controller to open the universal menu.
Select Sharing
, then select Cast
.
Select Computer, then select Next.
If you can’t see your computer listed, make sure your headset and computer are connected to the same WiFi network.
Select Done.
To stop casting, select Sharing from the universal menu > Casting > Stop Casting.
Cast Your Quest2 Headset to a Monitor Using an HDMI Cable
Examples: HDMI compatible TV or External Computer Monitor
First, identify your computer’s cable ports. Depending on the model, you may need to buy an adapter to connect your computer to the monitor.
Some connecter options include:
HDMI
USB-C
DisplayPort
Thunderbolt 3 or 4
Extend or Mirror Your Display (Windows Computers)
Connect the monitor to your Windows computer and a power source.
Click Start > Settings > System > Display. Under the Multiple Displays header, click the Detect button. (Your computer may automatically recognize your secondary monitor).
From the Display menu, select Multiple Display > Duplicate (this will show the same image on both screens) or Extend (this will display different images on different screens).
Extend or Mirror Your Display (Mac Computers)
Connect the monitor to your Mac computer and a power source.
On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences > Displays.
Click the Detect Displays and select your external monitor.
You may need to press the Option key to see the Detect Displays button.
Under Display Settings, click the name of your display, and then choose Mirror Display (this will show the same image on both screens) or Extend Display (this will display different images on different screens) from the pop-up menu.
Now that you have your external display set up, you can follow the instructions for Casting Your Quest2 Headset to a Computer.
Connect your Quest2 Headset and computer to the same WiFi network.
Open a Google Chrome browser on your computer.
Go to oculus.com/casting and log into your account.
Put on your headset and press
on your right hand controller to open the universal menu.
Select Sharing
, then select Cast
.
Select Computer, then select Next.
If you can’t see your computer listed, make sure your headset and computer are connected to the same WiFi network.
Select Done.
To stop casting, select Sharing from the universal menu, Stop Casting.
Cast Your Quest2 Headset Using SideQuest (Tethered or Wireless)
If you are running more than one headset from the same Facebook account you will need to use SideQuest to cast your VR headset.
*Please note that SideQuest casts video-only - you will need a separate audio transmitter device to share sound*
Turn on your VR headset and connect to Sidequest using the charging cable or link cable.
Once connected, select the Streaming icon
.
Keep or change the stream options according to your preference.
Select Start Stream. This will open up a new SideQuest window with the live content from your headset.
To stop casting, close out of the browser window.
You can also cast your Quest2 headset using SideQuest wirelessly.
Turn on your VR headset and connect to Sidequest using the charging cable or link cable.
Select Enable Wireless Mode

Once your headset has reconnected wirelessly, there will be a drop down arrow next to the device name.
You can now disconnect the cable and continue casting your headset wirelessly
Cast Your Quest2 Headset Using Google Chromecast
For this method you will need a Chromecast device or TV with Chromecast built-in.
Turn on your headset and connect to the Oculus mobile app.
Make sure your devices are connected to the same WiFi network.
Select Cast
.
Press the downwards arrow to bring up a list of devices you can cast to, such as the phone you are currently using, your nearby Chromecast, or a device with Chromecast built in.
When you are ready to begin casting, select Start Cast.
To stop casting, press
on your right hand controller to open the universal menu in your headset. Select Sharing
from the universal menu > Casting > Stop Casting.
