How to automate a module on page load
Updated over a week ago

Introduction

Automation is an exciting feature that makes it possible to automatically trigger Interactivity without the visitor needing to select a clickable area on the page. Page Load Automation works by opening or displaying a module when a page is turned to (when it 'loads').

Example

Ryan has created a Social Media Policy and would like to display a helpful message to anyone viewing the document so they know how to use it. In order to do this, he uses Automation to automatically launch a More Information pop-up box when page one is opened.

How to set up Automation

  • Navigate to a Document.

  • Select ‘Interactivity’ for the Version of the Document that you want to work on.

Only one module is required to set up this type of Automation.

  • Module 1 - This is the module that will launch when the page is opened or turned to - ensure it is positioned off-page.

  • Click on the module that you want to automate.

  • The 'Pages' palette found to the right of your design will activate.

  • From here, right-click on the page that you want to add the automation to, followed by Page Properties.

  • Select ‘Edit’ for the 'Page Automation' option.

  • Select the ‘Add Automation’ button.

  • A ‘Settings’ box will then display ready to set up the automation.

Automation Settings

Event

The only option here is ‘On Page Load’, as this is how the module will be triggered.

The number (in seconds) that you want to delay the automation by - for example, display a More Information pop-up box 2 seconds after the page loads.
