IOSS service
Updated over a week ago

Hi friend, this article is about to introduce the IOSS service for you.

What is the IOSS service?

It is a special service for customs clearance in European Union countries.

Effective 1 July 2021, the European Union’s Value Added Tax (VAT) reform abolished the VAT exemption for imports into the EU with an intrinsic value of up to 22 euros and changed it from 22 euros to 0 euros. That means all packages shipped from non-EU countries to EU countries are subject to this charge.

At the same time, the EU has launched IOSS (One-Stop Import Service), and it is recommended to declare VAT through the IOSS for goods under 150 euros.

Pandabuy also provides IOSS services on some online routes, and Value Added Tax (VAT) is calculated and levied based on the fixed tax rates of EU countries and your parcel's declared value.

You can see the IOSS tag under the line if it provides this service.

On these routes, you can choose the platform's IOSS to pay taxes or the recipient to pay it.

Here are the relevant routes for your reference:

Will I have to pay tax again if I use IOSS service?

Pandabuy will help you pay the tax with IOSS service, but we can not promise whether the local customs will charge the package again or not. If you are informed to pay for it, please cooperate with your local customs to get parcels smoothly. Please remember to keep the customs collection evidence and payment screenshots then send them to the customer service. We will confirm with the logistics team and refund the advanced IOSS cost for you.

Tips :

1. To protect the rights and interests of users and the platform, Pandabuy cannot provide you with the IOSS number we used.

2. If you bought IOSS services, it is not supported to change the declaration after parcel submitted (You can cancel the parcel and re-submit it to change the declaration).

3. If you want to use the IOSS service, the minimum declared value will be limited to 30% of the value of the goods in the parcel (the maximum declared value will depend on different routes).
