Learn how to transfer STP software from previous software to Payroller with these simple steps.
If you have been reporting Single touch payroll (STP) with another software and would like to start using Payroller you have two options.
Zero out method
For the zero-out method, you will need to remove the figures reported from your previous software to the ATO before you report through Payroller. Please contact your previous software for steps on how to do this.
If you do not complete this you may create duplicate reports for your employees.
If you however are unable to zero out your STP figures from your previous software you can either contact the ATO or you can use Payroller’s Migrate STP report feature.
Migrate STP report - Replacing key identifiers
Key identifiers are unique information used in Single Touch Payroll (STP) to help track and recognise employer and employee records. The main key identifiers are the ABN (Australian Business Number), Branch Number, BMS ID (Business Management Software ID), and Payroll ID
Payroller now has a new feature called ‘Migrate STP Report,’ also known as the ‘Replacing Key Identifiers’ feature. This tells the ATO that you're switching from your previous software’s key identifiers to Payroller’s key identifiers. This feature lets you update the ATO with the latest Year-to-Date (YTD) payroll amounts directly from Payroller.
Before you begin, you will need to have your previous BMS ID and your employees' previous payroll ID. You can get this from your previous software provider or through the ATO.
Please note that Key identifiers such as ABN and branch number must be the same as your previous software.
