📱 Note: This only applies to Android 11 and below. From Android 12 onwards, location access is no longer required to use Bluetooth with Perifit Care.
Wondering why the Perifit Care app asks for location permission?
In short: Perifit does not track your location, but Android requires this permission for technical reasons.
Why does Perifit need location access?
Actually, it's not Perifit that requires it — it's Android.
On Android devices, the system requires apps to have location access enabled in order to scan for nearby Bluetooth devices — even if the app does not collect or use your actual location.
This means that without granting this permission, the Perifit Care app cannot detect or connect to the Perifit Care device, because Android blocks this functionality for privacy and security reasons.
Does Perifit track my location?
No. Absolutely not.
We never access, collect, or store your location.
The permission is requested only to allow Bluetooth to work — not to track you.
Why do I need to accept it, then?
It's simply a technical limitation imposed by Android. Without this permission, Bluetooth connection is not possible, and the app cannot function correctly with your device.
