Overview
When a customer makes a purchase, you enter the purchase amount in the Scanner app. The system tracks their cumulative spending and automatically upgrades their discount tier when the threshold is reached. Your staff then applies the customer's current discount percentage manually to the transaction.
Finding the customer
Option 1: Scan the card
Open the Scanner app and tap Scan.
Grant camera access if prompted.
Point your camera at the customer's QR code or barcode.
Option 2: Search for the customer
Tap Search Customers on the home screen.
Search by name, phone number, email, or card serial number.
Select the correct customer and card from the results.
After scanning or finding the customer, their Discount card is displayed — including the current discount tier and percentage, total amount spent, last accrual date, and card serial number.
Recording a purchase
Enter the purchase amount in the Fill in the purchase amount field.
Tap Add Points.
A confirmation popup appears. Double-check the amount and optionally add an internal comment (the customer will not see this).
Tap Add to confirm.
Tap Done.
The system adds the purchase amount to the customer's cumulative total. If the new total crosses a tier threshold, their discount level upgrades automatically.
For example, a customer starts at Bronze (1% discount). After you record $1,500 in purchases, they remain at 1% because the Silver threshold is 5,000. Once their total spending reaches 5,000, they automatically upgrade to Silver (3%). After 10,000, they reach Gold (5%).
Important: The discount is not applied automatically at the point of sale. Your staff should check the customer's current discount percentage on the scanner screen and apply it manually to the transaction.
Viewing customer information
Below the transaction buttons, the scanner displays the customer's current card information, including:
Customer details (name, phone, email — as provided during card installation)
Current discount tier and percentage
Total amount spent
Last accrual date
Card serial number
Card installation date
The exact fields displayed may vary depending on your card configuration.

Does the discount tier upgrade automatically?
Yes. The system tracks cumulative spending and upgrades the tier automatically when the threshold is reached. The new discount percentage is visible immediately on the scanner screen.
Does the Scanner app apply the discount to the purchase?
No. The Scanner app tracks spending and manages tier progression, but the discount itself must be applied manually by your staff at the point of sale. Check the customer's current discount percentage on the scanner screen before processing the transaction.
Can I change the discount tiers?
You can configure discount tiers (names, spending thresholds, and percentages) when creating the card in your dashboard. These settings are locked after the card is activated.
Can I leave a note on a transaction?
Yes. When recording a purchase, you can add an internal comment (e.g., "Lunch special"). This is only visible to you and your staff.
