Overview

Transactional push notifications are system-generated messages sent to customers automatically after a transaction β€” for example, when points are added to their card or a reward is earned. These notifications keep customers informed about changes to their loyalty card without you needing to send anything manually.

Which notifications can be customized?

Most transactional push notifications are system-generated and cannot be edited. However, some notifications on Stamp and Multipass cards can be customized.

Editable notifications

  • Stamp card β€” The notifications sent when a customer earns a stamp and when a customer earns a reward

  • Multipass card β€” The notification sent when the card balance changes (when a visit is added or removed)

Non-editable notifications

Transactional push notifications for the following card types are entirely system-generated and cannot be modified: Cashback, Discount, Gift, Coupon, Membership, and Reward.

Note: Even on Stamp and Multipass cards, only the specific notifications listed above are editable. Other system-generated notifications on these cards cannot be modified.

How to customize stamp card notifications

  1. Navigate to Cards in the left-hand menu.

  2. Open your stamp card template and go to the Information section.

  3. Edit the message in the Earned Stamp Message field (sent when a customer earns a stamp).

  4. Edit the message in the Earned Reward Message field (sent when a customer earns a reward).

Important: The # symbol in the message is mandatory and must not be removed or altered. It is replaced with the actual stamp or reward count when the notification is sent to the customer.

How to customize Multipass card notifications

  1. Navigate to Cards in the left-hand menu.

  2. Open your Multipass card template and go to the Information section.

  3. Edit the message in the balance change notification field.

Important: The # symbol in the message is mandatory and must not be removed or altered. It is replaced with the actual balance value when the notification is sent.

FAQs

Can I turn off transactional push notifications?

No. Transactional notifications are system-generated and sent automatically when a transaction occurs. They cannot be disabled.

What does the # symbol do in the message?

The # symbol is a placeholder that gets replaced with the actual value (e.g., remaining stamps or available visits) when the notification is sent. It must stay in the message β€” removing it will break the notification.

Can I customize notifications on Cashback or Reward cards?

No. Transactional notifications for Cashback, Discount, Gift, Coupon, Membership, and Reward cards are system-generated and cannot be edited.

Where do I edit these messages?

In your card template settings under the Information section. This is the same section you use when creating or editing the card.
