Transactional emails

Understand the automatic emails sent after transactions and how to turn them off.

Overview

When a transaction is processed on a customer's card (points added, stamps earned, balance deducted, etc.), the system can send an automatic transactional email to the customer confirming the transaction details. These emails duplicate the transactional push notifications and include information like the order amount, points spent, and the customer's updated balance.

Transactional emails cannot be edited or customised — the content and design are system-generated.

How to disable transactional emails

If you don't want your customers to receive these emails after every transaction:

  1. Navigate to Settings in the left-hand menu.

  2. Click the Notifications tab.

  3. Under Customer Notification Settings, turn off Transactional Email.

Transactional emails will stop immediately for all customers.

What you need to know

  • Transactional emails can be disabled — Follow the steps above to turn them off

  • Transactional emails cannot be edited or customised — The content, design, and layout are system-generated and cannot be changed

  • Transactional push notifications cannot be disabled — The underlying push notifications that update the card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet must remain active. They are required for the card to refresh correctly on the customer's device

  • Disabling the email does not affect the push — Turning off transactional emails only stops the email. The push notification continues to work normally

FAQs

Can I customise the look of transactional emails?

No. Transactional emails are system-generated and cannot be edited or customised. If you're not happy with how they look, the best option is to disable them entirely and rely on transactional push notifications instead.

Will my customers still get notified if I turn off transactional emails?

Yes. Transactional push notifications still send automatically and cannot be disabled. Your customers will still see updates on their lock screen and their card will still refresh in their wallet.

Can I turn off transactional push notifications too?

No. Transactional push notifications are required for the card to update correctly in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. They cannot be disabled.

Where do I find this setting?

Settings → Notifications → Customer Notification Settings → Transactional Email. Toggle it off to stop the emails.
