Learn how to check the performance of your email sequences directly in the Funnel Editor with Message Analytics.
TL;DR
Open the analytics by clicking the "X Sent · X Scheduled" badge on your message in the Funnel Editor.
The dashboard shows you the metrics Scheduled, Cancelled, Sent, Delivered, Opened, and Issues for each message in your sequence.
You can filter by time period (today, last 7 days, custom, etc.) and search for individual leads.
What is Message Analytics?
Message Analytics shows you how well your automated emails are performing, directly in Perspective, without any external tools.
At a glance, you can see how many emails were sent, how many were delivered, and how many were opened.
What metrics are shown?
Metric | What it means |
Scheduled | Number of emails that are pending and planned according to the automation. |
Cancelled | Emails that were planned but will no longer be sent (e.g. because the contact unsubscribed). |
Sent | Emails that were actually sent. |
Delivered | Percentage of sent emails that were successfully delivered. |
Opened | Percentage of delivered emails that were opened. |
Issues | Percentage of emails with delivery problems, e.g. bounces. |
How do I open the Message Analytics Dashboard?
Open your funnel in the Editor.
Click on your message sequence in the left menu (e.g. "Bundle Sequence").
In the Automation Flow, directly below the Delay element, you'll see a badge with the label "X Sent · X Scheduled".
Click on this badge to open the Analytics Dashboard for this message. The title at the top of the dashboard shows the name of the message whose analytics you're viewing (e.g. "Bundle Download").
Tip: Each message in your sequence has its own Analytics Dashboard. Click on the respective message in the left menu to switch between views.
How do I filter by a specific time period?
Click the time period dropdown in the upper left of the dashboard (default: "All Time").
Select a preset time period: Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, or All Time.
For a custom time period, select "Custom" and define the start and end date using the calendar.
Confirm your selection with "Confirm".
How do I find a specific lead in the dashboard?
Use the search bar in the upper right of the dashboard to search by email address. The results list will then only show events for that contact.
How do I view details for a lead or an email?
View lead details: Click on a lead's email address in the event list to open a sidebar with the full contact profile.
View email preview: Click the eye icon next to an event to see the email exactly as it was delivered to the lead.
Frequently asked questions
Why do I see 0 Sent even though I've activated my sequence?
The sequence only sends emails once a contact matches the trigger conditions and the configured delay time has passed. Check whether your sequence is active (not paused) and whether any contacts have already triggered it.
Can I export the analytics data?
A direct export of Message Analytics is not currently available. You can export contact data through the CRM.
Are scheduled emails shown that haven't been sent yet?
Yes, the "Scheduled" metric shows all emails that are planned for a contact and are waiting to be sent.
Can I resend an email if there was an issue?
Manual resending directly from the Analytics Dashboard is not currently possible. For persistent delivery issues, please reach out to Perspective Support.
