To ensure account security and compliance, applying for the Pionex Card must meet the following conditions:
Complete Level 2 Identity Verification (KYC2)
Account assets greater than the amount shown on the application page. This is an eligibility requirement, not an application fee — your assets stay in your account and are not deducted. The threshold isn't a fixed number: it may be adjusted from time to time based on market and risk conditions, isn't published in advance, and can't be requested or changed by the user. Always check the application page at the time you apply for the exact figure that applies to you.
Cardholder name length: the cardholder's full name — first name and surname combined, including spaces — must not exceed 25 characters. If it is longer, the application form shows the error "Full name must not exceed 25 characters" and the application cannot be submitted.
Address: For the Pionex Mastercard, you are not required to enter an address during the application. For the Pionex Visa Card, address details (including House Number) are required. If your address does not have a house number, you can enter -- in the House Number field to complete the application.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Is there a direct link to the Pionex Card page?
A: Yes — you can open the card page directly at pay.pionex.com to apply for and manage your card. You can also reach it in the Pionex app under Wallet → Card, or on the website via Card → Personal Card.
Q: How long does it take to review a Pionex Card application?
A: For a standard application, you will usually get a result within one hour (the application page will show "Under Review" during this time). If the page still shows "Under Review" after one hour, please contact customer support to check on the progress.
Q: Is Pionex Card a credit card?
A: No. Pionex Card is a cryptocurrency debit card, not a traditional credit card. Before using, please ensure that funds have been transferred to the card account; otherwise, transactions cannot be made.
Q: Can a virtual card be used to withdraw cash from an ATM?
A: No, it is not supported. The Pionex virtual card does not have ATM withdrawal functionality.
Q: Does the virtual card need a PIN?
A: Only physical cards require a PIN. The virtual card does not use one — transactions are completed through in-app verification. If a merchant asks for a PIN, the transaction may have been misread as a physical-card transaction; please explain this to the merchant.
Q: Where is the Pionex Card issued?
A: Pionex Mastercard is issued out of Hong Kong or the United States. Pionex Visa Card is issued out of Singapore.
Q: Why can't I apply for a Pionex Card?
A: Possible reasons include:
1. Pionex account balance is less than the required amount — the exact figure is shown on the application page. This is a hard requirement and cannot be changed or adjusted by the user.
2. Account is restricted (e.g., under risk control, compliance review)
3. Your country/region is not supported for Pionex phone registration and identity verification (see the list)
4. The card you are trying to apply for is not offered in your KYC-verified country/region. You may apply for the Pionex Mastercard instead. (Entry: App [Wallet] → [Card] → [Apply Now])
For specific reasons, please contact customer service for details.
Q: After my Pionex Card is approved, do I need to keep holding the account assets that met the application threshold, or will withdrawing them affect my card?
A: No. The account-assets threshold is only checked at the time you submit the application — it is a one-time eligibility requirement, not a balance you must maintain afterward. Once your Pionex Card has been successfully opened, withdrawing or transferring out the deposit that was used to meet that threshold will not affect your ability to continue using the card. The only thing that can affect an already-issued card is prolonged inactivity: the platform may automatically close cards that go unused for an extended period. See Explanation of Pionex Card being automatically cancelled by the platform for details.
Q: The application page won't let me continue and no error message appears. What should I check?
A: The card application does not take a payment and does not involve your bank, so a step that will not advance is not a declined charge. Please check the following:
Update to the latest version first. Older app versions have a known issue where the application form stops without showing anything: tapping the next step or [Confirm] does nothing at all. Update the Pionex app (or reload the web page) to the latest version, reopen [Wallet] → [Card], and apply again. This resolves most reports of this kind.
Application conditions. Level 2 Identity Verification (KYC2) must be complete, and your account assets must be above the amount shown on the application page. This is a hard requirement and cannot be changed or adjusted by the user. That amount is an eligibility requirement, not a fee — the funds stay in your account. On older versions an unmet condition can leave the page loading with no message, which is another reason to update first. If your KYC country/region is not supported for that card, see the question above.
Cardholder details. Enter them as shown on your identity document, following the on-screen instructions. If the form does not accept the characters you entered, re-enter the name using English letters instead. The full name (first name and surname combined, including spaces) must not exceed 25 characters and must match your identity-verified (KYC) name; a longer name is refused with an on-screen message rather than silently, so please do not shorten it to fit — contact customer service instead.
Still stuck? Contact customer service and include your app version number and a screenshot or screen recording of where it stops. The version number is what lets our card team match your case to a known client issue.
Q: I got a "Card system error, please try again later" message when applying for the card. What should I do?
A: This message usually appears when the information submitted didn't pass an automatic check. Please try the following:
Upload a valid identity document — make sure it's the correct document type, not expired, and the photo is clear and fully legible.
Double-check the cardholder details you entered and correct any mistakes so they match your identity document exactly, then submit the application again.
If the error still appears after trying the above, please contact customer service for further assistance.
Q: The application says my full name exceeds the character limit. What should I do?
A: The card application accepts a full name of at most 25 characters (first name and surname combined, including spaces). The name on the application must match your identity-verified (KYC) name, so please do not drop or alter part of your name to fit the field. If your full legal name is longer than 25 characters, please contact customer service — our card team will review the options available for your case.
Q: My address doesn't have a house number. What should I enter in the House Number field?
A: If your local address format doesn't include a house number, simply enter -- in the House Number field — this will pass form validation and let you submit your application normally.
Q: Can I change my Pionex Card personal details after applying?
A: Yes — after applying, these can be corrected by contacting Pionex customer support (there is no self-serve option):
Phone number and email address can be updated.
The cardholder name can be corrected only to match your identity-verified (KYC) name (for example, a spelling or transliteration fix); it cannot be changed to a different name. If your legal name itself has changed, please update your identity verification first.
Whether the address can be changed depends on your card's issuing program.
Contact support and they will confirm what applies to your card. None of this affects normal use of the card.
Q: I entered the wrong phone number when applying for the card — will anything be sent to it, and can I change it?
A: Your card has its own bound phone number. It is filled in from your Pionex account phone when you apply, but it is a separate card field you can edit, so afterwards it is independent of your account login phone. This number is where your card's verification text messages are sent, such as the 3D Secure (3DS) one-time code some online payments ask for. If it is wrong, a payment that needs an SMS verification code may fail because the code goes to the wrong number, so it is worth correcting. To change it, contact Pionex customer support (there is no self-serve option); this updates only your card's phone — it does not change your account login phone — and correcting it does not disrupt normal use of the card.
Q: My Pionex Card shows the wrong country/region, or I need to have it updated — can this be changed?
A: The country/region on your Pionex Card is determined by the country/region under which you completed identity verification (KYC) at the time the card was issued, and this record cannot be self-service edited in the Pionex App afterward.
Q: How many Pionex Cards can I apply for?
A: There is no fixed limit on the number of cards you can hold (this may include a regular card, VIP Card, co-branded cards, etc.). However, all cards must be the same network brand — either Visa or Mastercard — determined by the country/region on your completed identity verification (KYC). You cannot hold cards of both brands at the same time.
Q: Which currencies does Pionex Card support?
A: Pionex Card currently only supports transferring and spending USDT. Other currencies are not yet available.
Q: Which account's funds does Pionex Card consume?
A: Pionex Card has an independent card account. Users need to transfer funds from the primary account to the Card account to make payments or purchases.
Q: What are the fees for the Pionex Card?
A: For detailed fee standards and handling charges, please refer to Visa Card Fees or Mastercard Fees. Any changes will be subject to official announcements.
Q: Where can the Pionex Card be used?
A: The Pionex Card works at physical stores and online merchants that accept its network — Visa or Mastercard, depending on your card — so in most places you can simply go ahead and pay as usual. The only exception is merchants registered in or operating from a small number of restricted countries/regions, where a payment may be declined; see Why is Pionex Card Usage Restricted in Certain Regions. Whether any individual payment goes through also depends on the merchant's own policy and local regulations.
Q: Does Pionex Card have a physical card?
A: Physical cards are currently being rolled out in phases through specific promotions and regional invitations (for example, activities in Taiwan and Malaysia) — most users only have access to the virtual card at this time. If you're eligible for a physical card, you'll see the option to apply for it directly in the app or on the website. If you don't see this option, physical cards are not yet available for your account. In the meantime, if you need to make physical or offline payments, you can bind your (virtual) Pionex Card to a digital wallet. For detailed instructions, please refer to our support page: Digital Wallet Binding Guide
Q: My Pionex Card was automatically cancelled by the platform. Can I apply for a new card using a different or newly registered Pionex account?
A: Not supported. If your Pionex Card has been automatically cancelled by the platform, re-application is not supported—whether through your current account or by switching to/registering another Pionex account.
Q: Can I apply for a Pionex Corporate Card?
A: Yes. Click the link below and fill out the application form to submit your Corporate Card application. Our team will review it and notify you of the result: Apply for Pionex Corporate Card
