  • 200+ Countries & Regions Covered — Choose from single-destination or regional data plans

  • Pay Directly with USDT — Purchase using your Pionex payment account balance at transparent exchange rates

  • Real-Time Data Monitoring — Check remaining data at any time within the App; top up with a single tap when running low

3. Before You Begin: Device Compatibility Check

Before purchasing, please verify that your device meets all of the following requirements:

  1. The device supports eSIM functionality.

  2. The device is not carrier-locked or network-locked.

  3. The device has not been jailbroken (iOS) or rooted (Android).

How to Check Whether Your Device Supports eSIM

Follow the steps below to verify eSIM compatibility:

  1. Open the Phone/Dialer application on your device.

  2. Dial: *#06#

  3. Check whether a 32-digit number labeled EID is displayed.

  4. If an EID is present, your device supports eSIM.

iOS: Go to Settings and check whether a "Cellular" or "eSIM" option is available. If no such option exists, eSIM is not supported.

Android: Go to Settings → Mobile Network and check whether an "eSIM Management" or "Add eSIM" option is available. If no such option exists, eSIM is not supported.

4. Purchase Process

The entire purchase process involves 4 steps and can be completed in as little as 3 minutes:

Step 1: Confirm Device Compatibility

Open Pionex Card, navigate to eSIM Service Benefits, and verify that your device supports eSIM.

Step 2: Select a Plan and Make Payment

  • Search by destination (single-country or regional plans available)

  • Select your preferred data size and validity period

  • Pay using your Pionex payment account balance (USDT)

Step 3: Install Your eSIM

Once payment is confirmed, follow the in-App instructions to complete the eSIM installation.

Step 4: Connect Upon Arrival

  • Ensure "Data Roaming" is enabled on your device

  • Switch to eSIM as your mobile data source

  • Your validity period begins once you connect to a local network

Most plans support "Activate on Arrival" — you can purchase and install the eSIM before departure. The validity period only begins counting down once you connect to a local network at your destination.

5. eSIM Installation Methods

After a successful purchase, Pionex offers three installation methods. Please select the one that best suits your device and situation:

Method 1: One-Tap Installation (Recommended — iOS 17.4+ only)

The most convenient method, completed entirely within the Pionex App.

  1. After payment is confirmed, tap "Install Now."

  2. The system will redirect you to the device's installation page.

  3. Confirm the installation to complete the process.

No QR code scanning or manual entry is required. The process is completed with a single tap.

Method 2: QR Code Scan (Compatible with iOS and Android)

Requires a secondary device (phone or computer) to display the QR code.

  1. Open the App on your secondary device and locate the eSIM QR code.

  2. On the device where you want to install the eSIM: on iOS, go to Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM; on Android, go to Settings → Network → SIM Card → Add eSIM.

  3. Scan the QR code to complete the installation.

Method 3: Manual Entry (Any eSIM-Compatible Device)

Suitable for situations where QR code scanning is not possible.

  1. Copy the eSIM activation code (LPA format) from the App.

  2. Navigate to the "Add eSIM" section on your device.

  3. Select "Enter Manually," paste the activation code, and complete the installation.

6. Data Usage and Top-Up

Checking Your Data Status

You can view the following information at any time on the "My eSIM" page within the eSIM Service section:

  • Data used / Total data allowance

  • Remaining validity days

  • Current activation status

Data Usage Alerts

The App will automatically send push notifications at the following thresholds:

  • 50% data used — Informational reminder

  • 80% data used — Recommendation to top up

  • 95% data used — Urgent alert

  • 3 days remaining — Expiration reminder

How to Top Up

  • Tap "Top Up" directly from a data usage notification

  • Tap "Top Up" on the eSIM order details page within the App

Some plans are labeled "Unlimited Data." Upon reaching the high-speed data cap (3 GB/day), speeds will be reduced rather than disconnected, and the connection will remain usable.

Hotspot Sharing

Pionex eSIM supports mobile hotspot functionality, allowing you to share your data connection with other devices (laptops, tablets, etc.).

7. Important Notes

Installation Window

After purchase, you must complete the eSIM installation within the specified timeframe. If the installation is not completed within this window, the carrier will automatically reclaim the eSIM. The installation window varies by plan — typically 30, 180, or 365 days — and can be confirmed on the purchase details page.

Once the installation window expires, the eSIM will be permanently reclaimed and cannot be recovered. Refunds will not be issued in this case. Please complete the installation promptly.

Validity Period Calculation

For most plans, the validity period begins when you first connect to a network at your destination, not from the date of purchase. You may therefore purchase and install the eSIM before your departure with confidence.

Once the validity period begins, it runs continuously and cannot be paused. Data validity will continue to count down even if the eSIM is not actively in use.

Device Restrictions

Once an eSIM is installed on a device, it becomes permanently bound to that device and cannot be transferred to another. If you need to use the eSIM on a different device, a new eSIM must be purchased.

Refund Policy

Refunds may be requested in the following circumstances (subject to supplier review):

  • ✅ Plans that have not yet been activated

  • ✅ Inability to install due to device incompatibility

  • ✅ eSIM installation failure

Refunds are not available in the following circumstances:

  • ❌ Plans that have already been activated (validity period has commenced)

  • ❌ eSIMs that have been reclaimed due to an expired installation window

Refund Processing Time: Approved refunds will be credited back to your payment account within 1–3 business days.

8. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: Does my phone support eSIM?

Open the Pionex App and navigate to the eSIM purchase flow — the system will automatically detect your device's compatibility. You may also check by looking for an "eSIM" or "Add Cellular Plan" option in your phone's Settings. Note that domestic Android devices sold in mainland China (Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO mainland editions) are unlikely to support eSIM. We recommend checking compatibility in advance.

Q2: When does the validity period start after purchase?

For most plans, the validity period begins once you arrive at your destination and connect to a local network. The countdown does not start upon purchase, installation, or while on the plane. You may purchase your plan in advance without concern.

Q3: I've installed the eSIM, but I have no signal at my destination. What should I do?

Please first verify the following: ① Whether "Data Roaming" has been enabled on your device; ② Whether the eSIM has been set as the default data card in your Settings. Approximately 90% of connectivity issues are caused by data roaming not being enabled. If you still have no signal after confirming these settings, please contact Pionex Customer Support.

Q4: Will my connection be cut off if I exhaust the data on an unlimited plan?

No, your connection will not be cut off. However, speeds will be reduced. Unlimited plans typically include a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) cap on high-speed data. After this cap is reached, speeds are automatically throttled. Browsing and messaging apps will remain usable, although at a slower speed.

Q5: Can I top up my plan? How is additional data calculated?

Yes, top-ups are available. Navigate to the eSIM order details page, tap "Top Up," select a plan for the same region, and complete the payment. Additional data is added on top of your existing allowance, and the validity period is extended to whichever expiry date is later.

Q6: Will the eSIM affect my original SIM card?

Not at all. Pionex eSIM functions as an independent data card. The two operate independently and do not interfere with each other.

Q7: Can I transfer the eSIM to another phone?

No. Once installed, the eSIM is bound to the device and cannot be transferred. If you need to use a different device, please purchase a new plan.

Q8: What payment methods are supported?

Currently, only the Pionex payment account balance (USDT) is supported. Direct payment via bank card or credit card is not available.
