How to apply bullet points to multi-line text fields in Elements app templates
When creating digital asset templates within the Elements app, you have the option to add bullet points to multi-line text fields. To apply, users must have Admin or Elements Designer permissions. Bullet points will display at the start of each new line of text once exported in PowerPoint or PDF file format.
To add bullet points to a template:
1. | Open the Elements app in the Apps Side Panel |
2. | Click the cog icon to open the Manage templates window  |
3. | Select an existing template or create a new template (if creating a new template, insert all desired fields before proceeding) |
4. | Select the multi-line text field where you want to include bullets |
5. | From the table field formatting pane, select BULLETS  |
6. | To adjust bullet color, click the bullet color paint can  |
7. | Click Save Changes |
Format data in a multi-line text field to display as a bulleted list:
1. | Open an existing record or add a new record |
2. | Add data to the multi-line text field (this field should have the bullet setting applied in the template) |
3. | Press Enter/Return to add a line break where bullets are required  The below image depicts an export of the field data above. For best results, ensure text formatting and spacing are consistent within the multi-line text field. Bullets will also apply to text in paragraph format.  |
Please note: Bullet points will not appear on elements in the export preview screen. They will be visible at the beginning of each new line once exported to PowerPoint or a PDF file. They will not appear when elements are exported as PNG images or if used as an image by a third-party PowerPoint add-in.
