Control Template Visibility for End Users and External Plugins
Learn how to manage template visibility in Pitchly’s Elements App. Hiding a template prevents it from being accessed by end users during export and from appearing in third-party plugins like UpSlide, Macabacus, and Templafy.
Overview
In Pitchly, Admin Users or Users with Manage Templates permissions can choose to hide or show templates in the Elements App. This feature is useful if a template is still in development or is used only as a nested template within another. Hiding a template restricts access to it from both the Pitchly UI and external integrations using the Pitchly API.
When a template is hidden:
End users will not see the template when exporting records.
It will not appear in connected tools like UpSlide, Macabacus, or Templafy.
Access the Template Designer
Open the Elements App from the side panel or Apps home screen.
Click the cog icon to open the Manage Templates window.
Hide a Template
In the Manage Templates window, locate the template you wish to hide or show.
Click the three-dot menu to the right of the template name.
Select Hide Template from the dropdown menu.
A pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm. Click OK.
The template will now display an eye icon with a slash next to the three-dot menu, indicating it is hidden.
Re-enable visibility:
Click the three-dot menu for any template currently hidden.
Select Show Template from the dropdown.
A pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm. Click OK.
The template will be restored and visible to end users and API integrations.
When to Use Template Visibility Settings
In-progress templates: Prevent users from accessing templates that are still being designed or tested.
Nested templates: Hide templates that are used only as sub-sections within other templates and not intended for direct export.
