If a parent or adult member isn’t showing in the Add to Chat list, it’s usually for one simple reason:
👉 They haven’t entered their Date of Birth in PLAI.
For safeguarding, PLAI automatically assumes that any user without a DOB is Under 18. They won’t appear in Team Chat until this is updated.
🛠 How Parents Can Fix This
Ask the parent to follow these steps:
1️⃣ Open the PLAI App
If inside a team page, tap Back to return to the Home screen.
2️⃣ Go to Their Profile
Tap the circular profile icon in the top right.
3️⃣ Update Their Date of Birth
Tap Edit
Enter their correct DOB
Tap Save
✅ Once updated, they will be recognised as an adult and appear in the Add to Chat list.
⚠️ If They Still Don’t Appear
Confirm the DOB saved successfully
Refresh the team page
Re-open the chat group and try again
