How to Delete a Child's Profile

Step by step guide to deleting a child's profile from your PLAI Family Tree, including what happens if they have outstanding payments.

Deleting a child's profile is permanent, so PLAI includes a couple of safeguards before it happens.

  1. On the child's profile, scroll to the bottom and tap "Delete [Child Name]" in red.

  2. PLAI checks for any outstanding payments before showing you a confirmation.

If there are no outstanding payments

A confirmation modal appears with the child's name, a non-recovery warning ("Deleted profiles are non-recoverable & this might impact on [Child Name]'s ability to participate in sport at the club"), and two buttons: Cancel Deletion and Delete Child (red).

Important: If your child currently belongs to any clubs, the modal also warns: "Deleting this profile will remove [Child Name] from all clubs they are currently a member of." Confirming deletion ends those club memberships immediately.

Tapping Delete Child permanently removes the child's profile, including their details, guardian links, emergency contacts, and documents. You're returned to the Family Tree screen with a toast confirming "[Child Name] has been deleted."

If there are outstanding payments

Instead of the standard confirmation, you'll see: "You need to settle up first... [Child Name] has payments outstanding. Settle the outstanding payments before deleting the child account from PLAI." with Cancel Deletion and Settle Now buttons, plus a "Need help? Contact Support" link.

Tapping Settle Now takes you to the payments screen. Once you've settled the balance, attempting deletion again shows the standard confirmation instead.

Important: Outstanding payments must be fully settled, partial payment doesn't unblock deletion.

Note: If the child has multiple guardians, deleting the profile removes it for all of them, not just you. Every other linked guardian receives a notification naming you as the guardian who deleted it.

FAQ

Can I undo a deletion?

No, deletion is permanent and irreversible. There's no recovery option.

What happens to my child's transaction history after deletion?

Any payments made on their behalf remain in your Wallet transaction history. This is also true for clubs, transaction records aren't erased when a profile is deleted.

What if my child is registered for an upcoming paid event?

The deletion confirmation includes an extra warning that this may affect their event registration, but deletion still proceeds if you confirm.

What if my connection drops while deleting?

You'll see: "Unable to delete profile. Please check your connection and try again." Nothing is deleted until the request succeeds.
