How to Edit a Shop Product

How to edit an existing shop product's name, price, images, variants, visibility, or settings in PLAI without needing to unpublish or republish it.

  1. Open the product's detail page and tap the menu.

  2. Select Edit Product. The Add Product screen reopens with every field pre-filled: name, price, image, description, variants, fulfilment, visibility, and notifications.

  3. Update whichever fields you need to change.

  4. Tap Save Changes. A "Changes saved" confirmation appears, and updates go live immediately, no republishing needed.

Important Notes:

  • If the product is published, members see your changes within one refresh cycle.

  • If you navigate away with unsaved changes, PLAI asks "Discard changes? Your edits will not be saved." before letting you leave.

A few things carry over from the original product when you edit it:

  • Changing the price only applies to future purchases. Existing orders keep the price and configuration from when they were bought.

  • You can rename a product even if it already has orders. Those order records keep the original name for their own history.

  • If you turn variants off after adding variant values, you will be asked to confirm first, since that variant data is lost. Existing orders that used those variants are not affected.

  • Group Admins can only edit products for groups they administrate.

FAQ

If I change the price, does it affect orders already placed?

No. Existing orders keep the price and configuration from when they were purchased. Only future purchases use the new price.

Can I edit a product that is still in Drafts?

Yes. Editing works the same whether the product is published or still a draft.

What happens if I turn off variants after adding variant values?

You will see a warning that variant data will be lost. Existing orders that used those variants are not affected.
