The Takeout Module in Platter POS

Overview

This article explains how to create and process Takeout orders in Platter POS. Takeout orders allow staff to quickly create off-premise orders, send them to the kitchen, and complete billing efficiently while ensuring correct pricing and tax application.

Restaurants can also configure separate pricing and tax rules specifically for Takeout orders.

Prerequisites

  • Takeout module permission to the user

  • Menu items are properly configured and visible on the POS

  • Takeout pricing (if different) is configured in the Back Office

Steps

  1. Log in to the Platter POS application

  2. Tap the Takeout button from the left navigation bar

  3. Tap New Order

  4. Enter customer details:

    • Customer Name

    • Phone Number

    • Estimated Time

  5. Tap Take Order

  6. Select the required menu items

  7. Tap Send Order to send items to the kitchen

  8. Tap Checkout

  9. Select the payment method and process payment

  10. Finalize the order

Important Notes

  • Takeout orders are processed separately from dine-in tables

  • Pricing may differ from dine-in if configured in the Back Office

  • Customer details help with order tracking and communication

Troubleshooting

  • Takeout button not visible:

    • Ensure the Takeout feature is enabled for your device

    • Reload configuration from Back Office

  • Incorrect price or tax applied:

    • Verify Takeout pricing setup in item configuration

    • Confirm the correct order type was selected

  • Order not printing to kitchen:

    • Check printer routing for Takeout orders

    • Ensure a stable network connection
