Opening a Finalized Receipt in Platter

Overview

In Platter, users can open previously finalized receipts directly from the POS or Back Office. From the POS, receipts can be accessed either through the Floor Plan (Table Hold) or the Orders module. From the Back Office, all invoices can be searched and filtered using the Sales Reports section.

Prerequisites

  • User role must have permission to view order history, void items, and process refunds.

  • The receipt must be finalized (payment taken) unless the order is being edited.

Opening a Finalized Receipt from the POS

Method 1: From Floor Plan (Press & Hold Table)

You can use this when the user knows which table the customer was seated at.

  1. On the POS home screen, tap Floor Plan.

  2. Press and hold (2 seconds) on the table.

  3. A list of receipts for that table appears, showing:

    • Current active invoice (unpaid)

    • Previous paid invoices

    • Date & time of payment

    • Amount paid

    • Invoice ID / Order ID

  4. Select the invoice from the list.

  5. The receipt details will open, and the user can:

    • Void items (if permissions allow)

    • Process refunds

    • Print the invoice

    • View order and payment details

Method 2: From POS > Orders Module

Use this method when the user does not know the table or wants to see all order types.

  1. On the POS home screen, tap Orders.

  2. This module displays all invoices, including

    • Dine-In

    • Takeout

    • Paid and Unpaid invoices

  3. Tap the Filter button to narrow down results

    • Order Type: Dine-In, Takeout, Delivery

    • Status: Open, Closed, All

  4. Once the list is filtered, scroll to find the desired invoice.

  5. Tap the invoice > invoice details appear on the right side.

  6. Click the Order button to view the full receipt.

  7. From here, the user can:

    • Refund

    • Void

    • Print Invoice

    • Review all order details

Opening a Finalized Receipt From the Back Office

Use this for checking summary details of invoices (not full receipts).

  1. In Platter Back Office, go to:


    Reports > Sales Reports

  2. This page shows summary information for every invoice, including:

    • Total amount paid

    • Table number

    • Server name (who took the order)

    • Order type (Dine-in, Takeout, Delivery)

    • Payment type

    • Bill details summary

  3. Use filters to narrow results:

    • Date range

    • Order type

    • Payment status

  4. Use the Search bar to look up by:

    • Order ID

    • Invoice ID

    • Customer name

  5. Select any row to view high-level details, but note:

    • The Back Office cannot open or display the full receipt.

    • An item-by-item breakdown is not visible here.

    • Refunds and voids cannot be performed from the Back Office.

  6. Users may export the report for accounting or reconciliation purposes

Troubleshooting

Invoice not visible on Floor Plan

  • The table may have been cleared or used for another order.

  • Try finding the invoice in the Orders module instead.

Unable to void or refund

  • User role may not have the correct permissions.

  • The invoice may be too old, depending on the refund policy settings.

Invoice not showing in the Orders module.

  • Check the filters (Dine-In/Takeout/Delivery, Open/Closed).

Cannot find the invoice in the Back Office

  • Expand the date range.

  • Use the Order ID or Invoice ID in the search bar.
