Yes, an electrical inspection by an independent inspection body after the installation of a charging station is mandatory in Belgium. Pluginvest also arranges this inspection for you through an independent third party. The electrical diagram and technical documentation are also provided by us. The cost of this inspection is always specified in our quotations.

PLEASE NOTE: Only the installation of the charging station are inspected, as an extension of your home electrical installation. However, the grounding and insulation resistance of your home’s electrical installation will also be checked by the inspector for safety reasons. This must be compliant or corrected in advance by you as the customer. After installation, Pluginvest will prepare a separate diagram of this extension, with your charging station. Finally, the inspector may request the positive inspection certificate of your home’s electrical installation, so it is strongly recommended to have it on hand when the extension is being inspected. This inspection is valid for up to 25 years. If you do not have this certificate, your home installation must be reinspected before the inspection body can proceed.

Can a positive inspection report be issued for the installation of the charging station?

If all the above conditions are met, a positive inspection report will always be provided to you.

What if the inspection of my charging station was negative?

Then a new inspection must be scheduled, and the issues that caused the negative result must be resolved before a positive report can be issued. If the inspection failed due to your home’s electrical installation, the cost of the re-inspection will be at your expense.
