Introduction
Welcome to PodRoll! In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to build, launch, and track a dynamic feed drop campaign. Follow these steps to effectively use PodRoll to enhance your podcast marketing strategy.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure that you have completed the following steps:
Add Billing Details to Your Account
Make sure your billing information is up-to-date. This is essential for launching and tracking your campaign.
For detailed instructions, check out our Billing Information Article.
Set Up Tracking Prefix (Optional)
To track conversions effectively, set up the Buyer's tracking prefix.
Follow the steps outlined in our Prefix Article and learn more about what conversions are in our Conversion Article.
Step 1: Building Your Campaign
Create a New Campaign
Basic Settings
Name: Enter a descriptive name for your campaign. Only you will see it.
Podcast: Select the podcast you want to promote. Make sure it's added in the "Podcasts" page first.
Episode: Select the episode you want to promote. Each campaign is one episode. To run multiple episodes, you'll have to set up multiple campaigns.
Apple Show Link: To find your show link follow these steps: How do I find my Apple Podcasts link?
Spotify Show Link: To find your show link follow these steps: How do I find my Spotify link?
Fallback Show Link: This is the link that listeners in other apps will be sent to if they are not listening from Apple or Spotify.
Budget
Total Budget: Establish your maximum spend for the campaign. You will only be billed for what gets delivered.
$ per 1,000 Downloads: Define your bid in the marketplace. This is what seller's will see when they review your campaign and what you will pay for every 1,000 downloads delivered to your podcast feed.
Delivery
PodRoll Network: Allows the entire network to accept your campaign
Exclude own podcasts: Ensures that you won't deliver to any of your own podcasts in the same account
Target own podcasts: Only allows you to deliver your feed drop to podcasts in your account
Pacing: Attempts to control the delivery pace. Although if your feed drop is picked up by a large show, it may still deliver very quickly.
Geotargeting
We suggest using Global or US-only. All other countries have limited inventory and may affect delivery.
Timeframe
Step 2: Launching Your Campaign
Review and Submit
Double-check all the details of your campaign.
Review the Order Terms.
Submit your campaign for review by the PodRoll team.
Step 3: Approve Podcasts to Promote Your Podcast On
Access the Approved Podcasts List
Go to the "Approved Podcasts" list on the "Buy" dashboard.
Approve podcasts for your campaign to deliver on.
Note, if this is your first campaign, wait a few days for Sellers to review and approve your campaign. The "New" tab will populate with podcasts that have accepted your campaign.
We suggest approving as many podcasts as possible to ensure delivery.
Monitor for New Sellers
Routinely check back to review the Approve Podcasts page and accept more sellers as they approve your campaign.
Step 4: Tracking Your Campaign
Access Campaign Analytics
Your campaign will show it's delivery vs. budget, conversion rate, and status.
Click "View" to see a chart of daily delivery for your campaign.
For any questions about the conversion rate, please refer to this Conversion Article.
