Who this is for: studio operators (admin panel) · Plan: Premium · Product: Podyx V2
Dynamic pricing lets one price list behave like many. Charge more at peak, less when you are quiet, differently for a returning client than a first-timer, and differently for a four-hour booking than a one-hour one. This is real yield management, and it is the single biggest revenue feature in V2.
ℹ️ Dynamic Pricing is a Premium plan feature. On Essential you will not see this tab. See plans and pricing.

🔧 Where to find it
Admin Panel → Pricing Rules
💡 Dynamic pricing and "Pricing Rules" are the same thing — the menu item is called Pricing Rules, and what you build inside it are your dynamic pricing rules.
⚙️ Turn it on and set the order
Enable dynamic pricing, then choose your pricing order: whether discounts are applied first or at the end. This sounds small and is not. It decides how rules stack, so a client with a loyalty discount and a peak surcharge ends up at a different number depending on which you apply first. Pick one and keep it consistent.
🛠 The rule types
Surcharge. Raise the price for certain days or hours, like Friday evenings.
Discount. Lower it for the times you struggle to fill.
Duration. Change pricing based on how long the booking is, so longer sessions get better rates.
VIP or specific customer. Show special pricing to selected clients, ideal for agencies and repeat B2B.
Loyalty. Reward clients based on how many times they have booked or how much they have spent.
Start from a template for ideas and speed, or a blank rule when you want something specific.
📈 Configuring a rule
Rules follow the same pattern. Set it active or inactive, choose whether the adjustment is a percentage or a fixed amount, then define when it applies: always, within a date range for a holiday or promotion, or on a recurring schedule for the same hours every week.
💡 Quoted prices use your currency's real precision. Currencies with no decimal places — such as VND, XAF, JPY and HUF — quote in whole units, and currencies with three decimals, such as KWD and BHD, keep all three. Two-decimal currencies behave as they always have.
🎯 Slot overrides beat everything
A slot override targets one specific room, date and time, and it bypasses every other pricing rule. Use it to force a surcharge, a percentage adjustment, or an absolute price on a single slot. Think of it as the top-level rule for when one booking needs to ignore your entire pricing system, like a public holiday or a one-off event.
🏷 Price-change badges before checkout
When a pricing rule or a promotion moves the price, clients now see it on the thing they are choosing. Time slots, setup cards and add-on cards carry a small pill reading "20% Off" or "20% Up", and a legend at the foot of the time list explains what the icons mean.
⚠️ The badge for a price increase now reads "Surcharge" where it previously read "Premium". Only the wording changed, not how the badge behaves. If your own copy — website text, client emails, internal notes or training material — refers to a "Premium" badge, update it to say Surcharge, since your staff and returning clients will know the old word.
The point is timing. A client sees the discount or the surcharge at the moment they pick a slot, not as a surprise on the checkout screen. Your off-peak discounts can finally do the job you built them for — steering demand towards quiet hours — because the client sees the cheaper option while they are still deciding. And a surcharge becomes something the client accepted rather than something they discovered.
💡 If a discount rule is not shifting bookings the way you expected, check that it is large enough to read as a real saving on the badge. A 5% pill rarely moves anyone; 20% does.
🚫 Block bundles and subscriptions on premium slots
You can stop bundle and subscription holders from booking or moving sessions onto times covered by a surcharge rule. This keeps your premium hours available for full-price bookings.
A master "Block bundles and subscriptions on premium slots" switch sits in Pricing Rules. It is off by default. Each surcharge rule also carries its own "Not bookable with bundles or subscriptions" tick — you can set these ahead of the master switch, since they save immediately but only take effect once the switch is on. This lets you decide which surcharge rules should block before you flip the whole thing on.
⚠️ Turning the master switch on blocks every existing surcharge rule at once, unless you have already unticked the ones you want to stay open. Set the per-rule ticks first if you want a partial restriction.
Only surcharge rules can block. Other rule types — discounts, duration, VIP, loyalty — will say so on their form where the tick would otherwise appear.
The rules list badges the surcharge rules that have blocking enabled, so you can see the restriction at a glance.
Clients see it while choosing, not at checkout — the time picker greys out restricted slots and explains why.
Staff and Zapier are unaffected. The block only applies to what clients do themselves. You and your team can still create or move sessions onto any slot.
🧠 Why it matters
You stop leaving money on the table at peak, where demand would have paid more.
You fill dead hours instead of staring at an empty studio.
Loyalty becomes automatic, rewarding good clients without you remembering to.
One flat rate is always wrong twice: too high for quiet times, too low for busy ones.
✅ Summary
Find it under Pricing Rules. Turn it on, decide your pricing order, then build a small set of rules: a peak surcharge, an off-peak discount, and a loyalty reward. Add duration and VIP rules as you learn what your clients respond to, and keep slot overrides for genuine one-offs. Clients now see a price-change badge on slots, setups and add-ons while they choose, so your discounts and surcharges are visible before checkout rather than after — and that badge now reads "Surcharge" rather than "Premium", so update any of your own copy that still uses the old word. If you want to protect premium slots from bundle and subscription holders, enable the block switch — set your per-rule preferences first so the switch does exactly what you intend.
