Who this is for: studio operators (admin panel) · Plan: all plans · Product: Podyx V2
Rooms represent the actual, physical spaces in your studio: a podcast booth, a multi-cam stage, a live room, or several studios under one roof.
A single room can hold several setups (different ways you sell that same space). Here is the rule that makes this powerful: when one setup in a room is booked for a time slot, every other setup in that same room is automatically pulled from availability for that slot, because the physical space is occupied. Setups in your other rooms stay bookable at the same time. That is how Podyx lets you offer one space many ways while making it impossible to double-book it.

🛠 What a Room includes
Room name: an internal name for your reference (not shown to clients).
Connected calendar: the Google Calendar Podyx reads to know when the room is free.
Address: the one detail that shows to clients, on their confirmation.
🔗 How Rooms power the booking flow
Rooms are not visible to clients. Each setup is tied to one Room, and the setup is what clients book. So services and add-ons connect to a Room indirectly, through their setup, and a slot is bookable only while its Room is free. This is what protects you: sell a single space three different ways, and the first booking of any of them holds the whole room for that slot.
📅 Connect a calendar (do this for every room)
Connect each Room to its own calendar so Podyx knows when the space is genuinely free, and so external events block that time automatically.
💡 One sub-calendar per room is the sweet spot, especially if you run several rooms in parallel. It keeps each space's schedule clean and bookings landing in the right place.
To connect, open Rooms (or Settings → Integrations), click connect, authorize Google, and refresh. Without a connected calendar, Podyx cannot see external commitments, and the risk of double-booking and missed blocks goes up.
🧠 Why Rooms matter
Rooms are how you get the most out of the space you are already paying for. Set them up well and you can:
Sell one space multiple ways (different setups) with zero double-booking risk.
Show real-time availability clients can trust.
Keep a clean calendar, one space at a time.
⚠️ Things to double-check
Every Room has a connected calendar.
The address is correct (clients see it).
Each Room is tied to at least one Setup.
✅ Summary
Rooms are your physical spaces and the foundation of your scheduling. They stay invisible to clients but power everything they see, through connected setups and calendars. For each space: create a Room, connect a calendar, and add one or more setups. One booking then locks the whole room for that slot, so your space is never sold twice.
