Connecting to Amazon Ads
Before setting up a connector, you'll need to ensure that your source already has data on it so that Polar can pull insights into the app.
Once you've verified the above, start by going to your Connector's page and look for Amazon Ads.
Click on Configure then, under "Region", select the Region of the country you selected when registering your Amazon Ads account. Select an attribution window and the account you are trying to connect.
Make sure you have the correct permissions on your Amazon ads account before adding them to Polar.
'advertiser_campaign_view' and 'advertiser_campaign_edit'
The data will be there at the next refresh, and you will be able to find this data on the Acquisition page, Key Indicators, and in your Custom Reports.
Note: Keep in mind that Polar only has access to Sponsored Product Type ads from Amazon.
Troubleshooting Common Connection Errors
In Polar, integrating Amazon Ads data might present some challenges. These stem from limitations in Amazon's data sharing policies. Below, we'll outline the main reasons for these challenges and actionable steps to resolve them where possible.
Tracking Amazon Ads Data in Polar Analytics: Limitations and Workarounds
Why Can't Polar Pixel Fully Track Amazon Ads Data?
Polar Pixel faces challenges tracking Amazon Ads data due to Amazon's restrictions around campaign data sharing. This limitation makes it difficult to directly link ad spend to conversions. Additionally, Polar Pixel is designed to focus on Shopify sales data, which creates a blind spot for Amazon Ads performance tracking.
Recommended Workaround: To navigate this limitation, it is suggested to use blended ad metrics when analyzing performance data related to Amazon. While this does not solve the tracking issue directly, it allows for a more holistic view of ad performance.
Resolving Amazon Data Absence in Blended Metrics
Why Isn’t My Amazon Data Appearing in Blended Gross Sales?
Amazon data might not appear in Blended Gross Sales metrics for the following reasons:
Amazon Seller Central is not connected to Polar Analytics: Double-check the integration settings to confirm your Amazon Seller Central account is properly linked.
Amazon account is excluded from the selected View: When creating or modifying Views, ensure that your Amazon account is included. If excluded, its data won't show up in blended metrics.
Steps to Resolve:
Confirm that your Amazon Seller Central account is integrated with Polar.
Select or modify the relevant View to include your Amazon Seller Central account.
Following these steps should ensure that Amazon data displays as part of the Blended Gross Sales metric.
Sponsored Products, Brands, and Display data
Recently we were able to give you access to Sponsored Brands and Display. However, the data has some limitations, due to Amazon Ads API and data policy.
The main limitations you might encounter are:
only 3 months of historical data by default. To get access to your historical data for Sponsored Brands and Display reach out via chat to our Support team, as the data needs to be refreshed manually by our team upon request
only the 14-day attribution window for your Sponsored Brands' data
not all the dimensions from “sponsored products” are available for “sponsored brands and display” such as accounts or profiles. To allow you to use Views and filters, we automatically attribute all the data from those sources to the account with the highest spending in the past 12 months.
