Connecting the Polar MCP with paid and free Claude accounts

By connecting Polar as an MCP server, you empower Claude with live access to your analytics data, enabling advanced conversational queries and insights directly within your AI workflow. Whether you're on a paid Claude plan or using the free version, this article walks you through setting up the connection securely, granting permissions, and syncing your first data sources.

Installing the Polar MCP on a paid Claude plan

  1. Add the Polar Connector

    Go to claude.ai or Claude Desktop > Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector

    On team plans, do this on the Organization connectors tab (you need to be Workspace Owner or Primary Owner in Claude Team to be able to setup MCP connectors).

  2. Enter MCP details

    MCP Name: Polar
    Remote MCP Server URL: https://api.polaranalytics.com/mcp

  3. Complete the connection by selecting "Connect" by the Polar Connector

    Team plans: switch to Your connectors to do this

  4. Sign up for Polar, or sign into your account if you have one created already

  5. Allow Claude to access your Polar data

  6. If you're new to Polar, you'll be asked to connect some data sources.

  7. Wait for email confirmation that at least one data source has synced. The initial historical data sync can take up to 24 hours for new Polar customers.

  8. Start a new chat, and ensure the Polar connector is enabled in Claude.


  9. Allow the tools to run the first time

  10. In Claude, input a prompt in the question field to generate an account-specific response.


Installing the Polar MCP on a Free Claude account

Only Supported on the Claude Desktop app

  1. Download this .dxt file and run it. Double click to open it in Claude.
    If it doesn’t open:

    • Go to Extensions > Advanced Settings

    • Click “Install extension” and choose for the

      .dxt file you downloaded.


  2. Click "Install" to add Polar to Claude

  3. Click "Install" again to complete the installation

  4. Add your Polar API key


    Generate an API key

  5. Enable the tool

  6. Dismiss the tool's configuration panel

  7. If you're new to Polar, sync your data to the MCP.
