If you run into any business permissions issue while attempting to connect Facebook Ads to Polar, follow this step-by-step troubleshooting guide to resolve the problem.
Step 1: Ensure Admin Access
You must have full admin access to both:
The ad account you're trying to connect
The Business Manager that owns the ad account
Important: Partner permissions (common for agencies) are not enough to connect the ad account. If you're an agency, your client must connect their own ad account.
Step 2: Check Ad Account Access in Meta Business Manager
Log into Meta Business Manager settings.
Navigate to the Ad accounts section
If no results appear when searching for the ad account number:
You don’t have access to this ad account.
In that case you need to “Request access to an ad account” and ask the ad account owner for access to that ad account with the admin role.
If the ad account appears:
You have partial access.
Look for your name in the list of people associated with the ad account.
Step 3: Verify Your Permissions
If your name is not listed:
Request that someone who is listed add you to the ad account with full permissions by clicking “Add People.”
If you can see your name,
Click on your name.
Ensure that the Manage Ad Accounts permission is toggled on.
If the toggle is visible and on, proceed to Step 4.
If the toggle is not visible:
This means you lack the necessary permissions.
Contact the ad account owner or an admin to grant you an Admin role to enable the permission toggle.
Step 4: Manage Ad Accounts Permission for Polar Analytics
Once you have Manage Ad Accounts permissions, go to your personal Facebook profile’s Business Integrations page.
Find the Polar Analytics app.
Click on “View and Edit.”
Ensure all permissions are enabled, especially the Manage Your Business toggle.
