How to Request MPS Overlay Assistance on a Deal

This article explains when and how to engage an MPS (Managed Print Services) overlay for proposal support, and what access is required to add specific items to a proposal.

Important: Make Sure the MPS Overlay Is Routed to the Correct Person

To ensure your MPS request is worked quickly and by the right overlay, it’s important to confirm that the correct MPS overlay is listed on the proposal before submitting a request.

For most sales reps this will be automatically routed to your MPS person once the request is submitted but it's important to notate that for any reps that oversee multiple territories and therefore have multiple support teams (inside sales) that you must choose the correct overlay on the Permissions Tab at the bottom of the right hand toolbar in Preo.

When Should You Engage an MPS Overlay?

You should engage an MPS overlay when:

  • You need guidance on MPS structure, strategy, or pricing

  • You want help validating MPS components on a proposal

  • You are unsure whether MPS items are set up correctly

  • You need help determining whether additional overlays are required

  • You are missing access needed to proceed

MPS overlays are a support resource, not a requirement, for adding MPS. Use them when you need help—not automatically.

How to Request MPS Overlay Assistance

  1. Go to the request tab in Preo

  2. Choose the request dropdown

  3. Choose MPS Request

  4. You will get a pop up box where you can verify that you have the correct MPS rep selected and then type in the assistnace that you're needing.
