Why Is a Product Showing as Preorder When It Shouldn’t?

Updated over a week ago

A product can be put on pre-order through the:

  • Preorder Products

  • Preorder Tags

  • Default Settings by enabling preorder for all products

Important Note: PreOrder Now follows a priority system: Product settings override Tag settings, and Tag settings override All Products settings.

How to Identify the Cause

  1. Check Each Configuration Section
Review the settings in each of the above sections to see where preorder might have been enabled unintentionally.

  2. Search for the Product in the App
Go to the Preorder Products section in PreOrder Now and search for the product.

  3. Review Product Details on the Edit Settings Page
    The app will show:

    • Whether preorder is enabled for the product

    • Which variants have preorder enabled

    • The inventory level in Shopify and in the app’s database

If you notice a mismatch in inventory, click Sync Products to update the data.

  4. Take Appropriate Action
    Based on what you find:

    • Disable preorder settings for that variant or product

    • Delete tag-based settings if necessary

    • Adjust All Products or default settings as needed
