1. Product Not Showing Up in the App Search
Issue: You can't find your product when trying to add it as a preorder item in the app.
Possible Causes:
The product is in Draft or Unpublished status
Product already has a Preorder tag (to prevent duplicates)
The store is password-protected, therefore blocking the search
How to Solve It:
Change product status to Active in Shopify, you can then change it back again once preorder is enabled.
Check for existing preorder tags under the Preorder Tags section.
Temporarily remove password protection.
2. Preorder Button Isn’t Displaying
Issue: You've set everything up, but the preorder button doesn't replace the "Add to Cart" button.
Possible Causes:
Product not enabled for preorder in the app
App embed is not enabled
Theme compatibility issues
How to Solve It:
Go to the Preorder Products tab in the app and confirm that the preorder status of your products and variants shows "Enabled."
Enable the app embed in your Shopify Theme Editor > App Embeds > PreOrder Now.
If the status is enabled but the button still doesn’t show:
Open your product page in Chrome
Right-click your “Add to Cart” button > click Inspect
Copy the class name (starts with
.) or ID (starts with#)Go to Advanced Settings > Selectors in the PON app
Paste your class/ID into the Button Selector field and replace the existing content.
Save and refresh your product page
3. Theme Compatibility Challenges
Issue: Custom or unsupported themes can interfere with the app's display.
How to Solve It:
Check if you're using a theme like Dawn, Retina, Sense, Pipeline, Vantage, Broadcast, etc.

4. Preorder Badge Not Appearing
Issue: Your badge is enabled, but it doesn't show on product or collection images.
How to Solve It:
Check Settings > Default > Product Image Badge and confirm it's enabled.
Add badge text (under 10 characters recommended).
Use Chrome's Inspect tool to find your image container selector, and enter it under Advanced > Product Page Image Container Selector.

5. Email Alerts Not Working
