The new primaTime does much more than the old Attendance, but you don't need any of it to keep your routine. Your day still has three steps — clock in, take your breaks, clock out — and this article shows them in the primaTime app, and where each of your old buttons is now.
When to use it
You recorded your working hours with Clock in and Clock out in the old Attendance module.
You look after your team's attendance — checking timesheets, printing them, locking past months. Your part is in If you're an admin below.
Before you start
The app is installed and you are signed in. → Install and sign in in Track time on your phone with the primaTime app
Your activities are now labels. Work, Lunch, Doctor and the other activities from the old Attendance came over as labels with the same names. They no longer have a Break or Work type, and no icon.
Labels, clients, projects and tasks are created on the web. In the app you choose from the ones that already exist in your workspace; a new one has to be added at app.primatime.com first.
How it works
Clock in
Tap + → Start stopwatch.
Tap Labels and choose the label you clock in with, for example Work.
Tap ✓. The stopwatch starts, and its bar stays above the tabs at the bottom of the screen.
Forgot to clock in on time? Set the start time earlier before you tap ✓.
Clocking in for a client or project? The app lists only the clients, projects and tasks that already exist in your workspace — a new one has to be created on the web first.
Breaks
Going on a break: tap the stopwatch bar, then the pause button ⏸. The time so far is saved as a record, and the stopwatch shows Timer is paused.
Back from the break: tap the resume button ▶. A new record starts with the same label.
The gap between the two records is your break. It is not recorded, so it does not count in your hours — like Breaks in the old Timesheet.
Clock out
Tap the stopwatch bar, then the stop button ⏹. The record is saved and the stopwatch ends. If your workspace requires a field you have not filled in, the form opens first.
Doctor, holiday and other absences
When your workplace wants an absence on record, add it as a record of its own: tap + → Create a new time record, choose its label — for example Doctor — set the start and end, or the length with Set duration, and tap ✓.
Labels have no break type any more, so every record counts in your hours whatever its label. For a break that should not count, use pause.
No label for the absence yet? New labels can only be created on the web, at app.primatime.com, not in the app. Once it exists there, you can choose it in the app.
Forgot to clock in or out
Add the time afterwards with + → Create a new time record — the old + Time record. What you used to write in Description goes in Note.
To correct a record, tap it in the Calendar, change it and save.
Your total hours
The app lists your records day by day, without totals. Your totals are on the web at app.primatime.com: Time tracking → Timesheet, switched to Month, shows your hours for every day of the month.
If you're an admin
The settings below are made on the web at app.primatime.com, by an admin or whoever looks after attendance in your workspace. People who were attendance managers in the old version now have the Time Records Observer role: they see everyone's time and reports, and can also edit and approve time records and change the time tracking settings. New clients, projects, tasks and labels are created there too — the app can only choose existing ones.
Labels instead of activities
Rename, add or archive labels in Settings → Labels.
To make sure every record carries a label, as every attendance record had an activity: Settings → Time tracking → Required fields → Label.
To allow only one label per record: Settings → Time tracking → General → One label per time record.
If you do not invoice this time: Default billable status on the same page, so new records are not billable.
The month's timesheet
One person's month, day by day — the old Timesheet and Print: Reports → Time records, filter by User and set the month, then Export as → PDF → Custom, choose the columns you need, set Group by to Day and confirm.
Everyone's totals side by side: Reports → Users.
Who is working today: Time tracking → Team calendar.
Send by email has no counterpart: export the PDF and attach it to your own email.
Labels have no break type, so group or filter your reports by Label when you want working time and absences apart.
Locking a period
Settings → Time tracking → General → Lock time records & additional items: set the Lock time, and nobody — admins included — can add or change records before it.
Turn on Automatically update lock date to lock each month as it ends. The lock applies to the whole workspace; the old lock for a single person has no counterpart.

Common mistakes
Clocking in without a label — the record cannot be told apart from the others later.
Looking for a way to create a label in the app. Labels, like clients, projects and tasks, are created on the web.
Recording a lunch break as a record — it then counts in your hours. Pause instead.
