Registering Your Software

How to register AccountEdge Pro (For both Mac and Windows)

When you first purchase AccountEdge, or install your software on a new machine, you will want to ensure that your software has been registered. This allows our systems to verify that your product is a valid copy, and to determine what services you are entitled to. In many cases, if you currently pay for services, issues such as an inability to load payroll tax tables, or files being marked as read-only, may be due to a lack of registration.

All copies of AccountEdge without valid registration will act as free trials, and expire within 30 days of installation.

To register your software, do the following:

1. Locate your AccountEdge serial number. This is provided to you when you purchase AccountEdge, and is required in order to access many of our services. AccountEdge serial numbers are 12-digit numbers starting with either a 1 (For US-based customers) or a 5 (Canadian customers).

2. If you have AccountEdge Pro installed on your machine, open the software and look for the 'Help' option at the top of the screen, as indicated by the red arrow in the image below.

3. Within the drop-down menu for the Help section, select 'Registration'

4. If you are currently not registered, or a previous registration is not active, then you will be shown an unsubmitted registration form as shown below. Fill out this form with your serial number and all other relevant information, and click the 'Register' button in the lower right corner.

5. When you have finished registering, you will be shown an active registration window as pictured below. For subscriptions, your software will notify you of your next billing date. This window is also where you are able to locate your machine ID for AccountEdge.

6. On the registration window, you will have the options to Log In, Renew, or Deactivate your license--deactivate your software only if you need to register on a different machine. You are now registered, so if you would like to continue using the software or access your company file, you can click the 'X' in the upper-right corner of the Registration window to close it.
