Insurance: Assessments & Site Visits

Written by Cheyenne Clifton

How do I complete an assessment?

Your assessment must include:

  1. Findings on-site

  2. Photos of the issue

  3. Scope of the repairs required

  4. Notes explaining the problem

Always ensure your assessment matches the service type linked to the claim.

Examples:

  1. Pipe leak > Pipe assessment form

  2. Geyser > Geyser assessment form

  3. Drain blockage > Drain assessment form

What must I do if the problem differs from the original claim?

What if the client has already repaired the issue?

  1. Capture photos

  2. Update your assessment

  3. Notify the Job Manager.

The claim may be closed as invalid and a callout fee may still apply.

What if the site is unsafe?

Your safety comes first. You may withdraw from the job if the site is unsafe.

Examples include:

  1. Severe mould

  2. Electrical hazards

  3. Structural instability

Notify the Job Manager immediately so the necessary action can be taken.
