This tutorial shows how to connect LabArchives to Proofig AI and run an image integrity analysis directly from a LabArchives notebook page. The overall workflow is the same as a regular Proofig AI submission — the main difference is that your images come from LabArchives instead of a local PDF, Word file, or image upload.
Sign up with LabArchives
You can start directly from LabArchives. On the Proofig AI sign-up page, click Sign up with LabArchives to get instant access with your LabArchives account.
You will be asked to choose your region — Rest of the world or Australia — so that Proofig AI connects to the right LabArchives server. Then connect your notebook and select the notebook page you want to analyze. Proofig AI analyzes the images, highlights suspected issues, and lets you review the findings and generate a report.
Note: PDF upload is not available through the free LabArchives flow. Images for analysis come from your LabArchives notebook page.
Log in and open Proofig AI
Log in to Proofig AI and open the To-Do page (your dashboard).
From here, you can start a new analysis or continue an existing one.
Start a new analysis from the dashboard
Click Upload your manuscript to open the submission flow.
Connect LabArchives
On the Submit page, choose LabArchives as your image source.
Select your LabArchives region
You’ll be asked to choose the LabArchives region — Rest of the world or Australia.
Important: Select the region where your electronic notebook was created (the LabArchives environment your notebook belongs to) — not your current physical location.
After selecting the region, log in to LabArchives using your credentials.
Choose the notebook and page to analyze
Once connected, select:
The notebook you want to analyze
The specific page that contains the images
Images on the notebook page can include TIFF files, which are imported and analyzed like the other supported image formats.
Then click Select Page to import the page into Proofig AI.
Submit the analysis
Back on the Proofig AI submission page:
Confirm the authorization checkbox (you are the manuscript owner or you have permission to analyze these images).
Choose whether to skip the sub-image review stage or keep it enabled (recommended if you want to verify what was collected).
Click Submit to start processing.
Processing and progress
Proofig AI will now process the submission and extract the relevant image data.
You can monitor progress from the To-Do page, where the manuscript status appears while it’s running.
Verify extracted images (sub-image review)
If you did not skip the sub-image phase, you’ll be taken to the sub-image review screen. This is where you can confirm that the correct images were collected from the LabArchives page.
When you’re done, click Submit to continue.
Review suspected issues
Next, you’ll reach the Review page, where Proofig AI highlights suspected integrity issues.
On this page you can:
Navigate between suspected findings
Use the investigation tools as needed, including the advanced contrast and brightness filters
Open the Review Assistant to see what was found, what it means, its severity, the signal behind the finding, and recommended follow-up actions. A short "What do I see?" explanation is also shown inline within the report itself.
Decide what to include in the final report
To include a finding, click Add to report.
Add comments (optional)
You can also add comments on findings.
If you want your comments to appear in the final report, enable Add comments to report.
Generate and view the final report
Once you’ve finished reviewing and selecting the relevant findings, click Generate Report.
Your report will include:
The findings you selected
Any comments you chose to include
You can then view, download, and share the report as needed.
