Using the 'Page Tutorial' Button

For detailed guides on each page of the platform, use the 'page tutorial' button located in the upper right corner of the screen of every page in the platform. This button provides access to step-by-step instructions and additional resources to help you navigate and utilize each feature effectively.

Overview of using the platform

The Proofig platform simplifies your workflow into four main steps: uploading your manuscript, validating sub-images, reviewing suspected issues, and generating a comprehensive report.

Step 1: Upload Your Manuscript

Navigate to the Proofig To Do Page and click the "Upload your manuscript" button.

This action will redirect you to the Submit Page, where you can complete the upload process for your manuscript.

Supported formats are PDF, Word (.doc / .docx), and image files including JPEG, PNG, and TIFF. You can upload up to 8 manuscripts at once — each is analyzed separately and produces its own report, and manuscripts are not compared against each other.

Step 2: Validate Sub-Images

After submitting your manuscript, Proofig will automatically redirect you to the Select-View Page. Here, you can validate the sub-images detected by the system. Adjust the detected sub-images as necessary to ensure accuracy.

Step 3: Review Suspected Issues

On the Review Page, Proofig highlights suspected integrity issues within your manuscript. Carefully review all the suspected sub-images and confirm the issues that should be included in your report.

add the confirmed issues to your report by clicking the 'Add to report' button

The Review Assistant explains each finding — what was found, what it means, its severity, the signal behind the finding, and recommended follow-up actions.

Step 4: Generate a Comprehensive Report

Once you have reviewed and confirmed the suspected issues, you can generate a report.

This report will summarize all findings, helping to ensure the integrity of your scientific images.

Each finding in the report also carries a short inline "What do I see?" explanation.
