This guide will walk you through the process of adding evidence to your Proserva Evidence Library, including tips on organizing your evidence and ensuring it is properly linked to standards.
Steps to Add and Manage Evidence
Adding New Evidence
To add a new piece of evidence, click the blue Upload button in the Evidence Library.
For example, if you have a PowerPoint slideshow from a professional development training, you would upload it to give reviewers insight into the content of the training beyond just the title.
Name your file appropriately, such as “Slides from Trauma and Healing PD Workshop,” to accurately reflect the content.
Entering Evidence Details
After uploading, you will see a preview of the document.
You’ll need to enter the following details:
Title: Reflects the file’s content (e.g., “Workshop: Trauma and Healing Reflection”).
Type of Evidence: Select the relevant category, such as “Professional Development.”
Description: Write a brief but clear description of the evidence, such as “Reflection on PD focused on trauma and healing in heritage language classrooms.”
Optional fields include the date, facilitator name, and other pertinent details. Keep descriptions concise and informative to assist both you and the reviewer.
Organizing Evidence
Evidence in the library is organized alphabetically by title. If you want related items (e.g., slides and reflections from the same workshop) to appear next to each other, consider naming them in a way that aligns alphabetically.
For instance, you might title them “Trauma and Healing Workshop - Slides” and “Trauma and Healing Workshop - Reflection” to keep them grouped.
Linking Evidence to Standards
Once evidence is added to the library, a number next to each artifact indicates how many standards it is linked to. If the number is zero, the evidence is not yet linked.
Important: Evidence that is not linked to any standards will not be visible to reviewers when you submit your portfolio. Ensure all evidence is properly linked before submission.
Example of Adding a CEU Certificate
To add a CEU certificate from a workshop, follow the same steps:
Upload the document.
Enter the title, select “Professional Development” as the type, and provide a brief description, such as “CEU certificate from trauma and healing workshop.”
Once added, this document will appear at the bottom of your Evidence Library.
