Picking tasks refers to any task that involves the selection, search, and pick of products from storage positions inside the warehouse. Picking tasks are created after processing a sales order in the PULPO WMS Web App. This article will explain how to use the filter for creating pickings for single orders or a group of orders (batch picking) with specific characteristics.

After the user has filtered the outgoing orders with the desired filter (see Article Filter Outgoing Orders with specific characteristics to have more information), the user can create pickings by clicking on the button CREATE PICKING.

A dialog will be displayed in which the user can choose different options for single and batch pickings.

Single Pickings:

In the single pickings tab/option the user can create one picking for each order.

The user has follwing options in the SINGLE PICKINGS tab.

  • Create pickings for selected sales orders. It is designed to make pickings of a specific and selected order/s.

  1. Select the desired orders in the list

  2. Click on the button CREATE PICKING

  3. The user can confirm that the selected pickings will be created

  4. Click on button CREATE PICKINGS

  • Create pickings for the first sales orders of the search. The user can select for how many orders wants to create pickings.

  1. Click on button CREATE PICKING

  2. Select the option Create pickings for the first sales orders of the search

  3. It is set automatically all the orders for the list. This can be modified afterwards

  4. To create pickings for the max possible, click on the button ALL POSSIBLE

❗️IMPORTANT: The maximum amount of orders is 100

  5. Click on button create pickings

Batch Picking:

The batch picking creates one or multiple pickings for a group of orders. The user can configure the size of each group (in this article “batch size”).

Once configured the user can create the pickings for the “selected orders”. On the bottom, the user can see how many pickings will be created for his configuration.

The user has the following options after entering a value for the “batch size":

  • For selection. This option creates desired batch size pickings with orders chosen from the list.

  1. The selected orders from the list will be processed

  2. For the selection option, the "batch size" is set automatically to the number of selected orders. This can be modified afterwards

  3. Click on button CREATE PICKINGS

  • For search result. This option creates batch pickings containing a specific number of sales orders with the desired batch size.

  1. Pickings will be created for the first orders of the filtered list, taking the batch size into account. This can be modified afterwards

  2. To create for the max possible, click on the button ALL POSSIBLE

❗️IMPORTANT: The maximum amount of orders is 100

  3. Click on button CREATE PICKINGS

As we can see in the example, 7 pickings will be created, each with 2 sales orders for the first 14 sales orders in the search.

For these mentioned options the user gets an overview of the created pickings, in case a picking could not be created, e.g. due to lack of inventory, it will be possible to see exactly the order number and the error description.

The creation of pickings for orders or groups of orders (batch picking) with specific characteristics is now finished. Now you can start to execute the picking tasks inside the warehouse.
