Warehouse movement functionality

PULPO WMS allows to creation of an outgoing order of type Warehouse movement in warehouse A that - once shipped - will automatically create a purchase order in warehouse B.

Important: The prerequisite for this is that a supplier is created with the text TENANT_ID in the fields Identifier type and Identifier number:

For more information on how to create suppliers, see this article.

Then create a new outgoing order of type Warehouse movement:

  1. Select type Warehouse movement

  2. Select the warehouse from which the products should be picked and shipped

  3. Select the destination warehouse

  4. Set a shipment date

  5. Add products

For more information on the creation of outgoing orders, see this article.

Once the warehouse movement order is created it can be picked, packed, and shipped like a regular outgoing order.

A matching purchase order will automatically be created in the destination warehouse once the sales order is shipped from the source warehouse, and can be processed the same way as a regular purchase order using the PULPO WMS Android App.

Streamlined Warehouse Movements: Quick Transfer between warehouses

The feature allows you to skip the separate Packing and Receiving steps for the movements between warehouses and book stock to the reception location in the destination warehouse directly after picking.

This feature is active only for orders of type warehouse_movement.

Enabling the Setting

To activate this streamlined flow, enable the Allow to skip packing and receiving for warehouse movement orders setting in the Outgoing settings -> Packing & Shipping section of the app.

You must also select two required defaults:

  1. Packing Box Template: The template used for automatic shipping.

  2. Shipping Location: The shipping position to be used for the automated transfer.

The Quick Transfer Flow

Step

User Action & System Response

1. Picking Completion

After completing the picking order, the app displays the usual Packing Positions PLUS all Incoming Positions of the Destination Warehouse.

2. Initiate Transfer

Scan or select one of the Destination Incoming Positions.

3. Automated Process

The system immediately performs the transfer for you:

Automatic Packing: All items are placed into a single box using the pre-selected template.

Automatic Receiving: The items are booked directly to the Incoming Position you selected.

Once the picking task is about to finish, you are shown the reception positions in the destination warehouse along with the packing positions in the source warehouse.

Scanning a packing position in the current warehouse will create a regular packing task that has to be processed separately.

Scanning the reception position in the destination warehouse will initiate the Quick Transfer flow.

Receiving the items in the destination warehouse

The shipped items are booked to the selected reception position in the destination warehouse, and a movement task is created to move the products to the Storage positions.

Important Notes

User Permissions are Key

  • The user who performs the picking must also have receiving permissions for the destination warehouse.

  • If the user lacks these permissions, the operation will fail, and an error will be displayed.

Batch and Serial Products

  • The system automatically carries forward any batch or serial number information captured during picking to the destination warehouse inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and stock visibility.

Label and Packing slip printing

  • If required, the label and the packing slip for the automatically generated box can be found in the outgoing order data (Shipped Boxes tab) and can be downloaded directly from the web app, if required.
