After the creation of a new outgoing order, the user might decide to divide the picking tasks between pickers or create several picking tasks for products with different tags. This is also valid for replenishment tasks.
PULPO WMS provides the functionality to split orders into several picking tasks, or movement task into several tasks, based on the tags, assigned to the products included in the order, their SKUs, and quantity.
Enabling the setting
To enable Splitting by product tag in PULPO WMS, open the Administration / Settings screen, go to the OUTGOING tab, select ORDERS AND PICKING sub-tab, and activate the required splitting options.
Please take into consideration that to use the Split by tag functionality the tags have to be assigned to the products.
Creating a split picking
When the Outgoing order or replenishment needs to be split into several tasks, select the order or replenishment and click the "Split" icon in the bottom right part of the screen. This will open the Split Picking screen.
The left side of the Split screen - ITEMS - shows the products which the order contains, SKUs, tags, quantity, and other parameters.
The right part of the screen - PICKINGS - shows the pickings created by the user and the products which the pickings contain.
Splitting orders into pickings or replenishments manually
PULPO WMS provides functionality to split orders or replenishments into tasks manually.
To do that, create several pickings and select the picking to add the products to.
After doing that, select the products and the quantity required to be added to the selected picking.
Clicking the "+" button next to the products will add them to the selected picking task.
Splitting orders or replenishments by product tags
To split products into pickings by the tags, click the "+" button on top of the Create pickings screen. Picking 1 will be created. Other pickings are created the same way.
To add products to the picking by tags, select a required tag using the tag selector and click the "+" button next to it.
All the products with the required tag will be added to Picking 1.
Selecting a tag and clicking on the "+" button next to the tag selector adds all products with a certain tag to the picking tasks.
Selecting a tag and clicking on the "-" button next to the tag selector removes all products with a certain tag from the picking tasks.
The screenshot below shows the products with the tag "heavy" added to Picking 1.
Clicking the "-" button next to the product will remove it from the picking.
To add another Picking, just repeat the procedure and add the products with different tags to the pickings.
The Picker assigned to the task can be chosen in the Picking screen. The field can be left empty as well, and the picking task will be available to all the pickers.
Pickings created manually before splitting the products by tag will not be affected.
Splitting orders or replenishments by product SKU
To split the products into a certain quantity of pickings or replenishments by SKU, the user needs to click the SPLIT BY SKU button located at the bottom of the screen.
After clicking this button, PULPO WMS will automatically create a number of pickings equal to the number of SKUs contained in the order.
Example:
An order containing 3 different SKUs will be split into 3 pickings regardless of the number of ordered products.
Pickings created manually before splitting the products by SKU will not be affected.
Splitting orders or replenishments by product quantity
To split the products into a certain quantity of pickings by quantity, the user needs to click the SPLIT BY QUANTITY button located at the bottom of the screen.
After clicking this button, PULPO WMS will automatically create a number of pickings equal to the number of products contained in the order.
Once the CREATE PICKINGS button is clicked, picking tasks will be created.
Example:
An order contains the following set of products:
SKU1 - 3 items
SKU2 - 1 item
SKU3 - 2 item
Total - 6 items.
The order will be split into 6 pickings or replenishment regardless of the number of SKUs, each picking will contain only 1 item.
Pickings created manually before splitting the products by SKU will not be affected.
Finishing splitting the order or replenishment
Users can combine different types of pickings within a single split: they can create a manual picking, then split part of the products by tag, and split the remaining products by quantity and SKU.
Before the pickings tasks are created, the user can remove products from pickings, or remove whole pickings and re-assign the products among other pickings.
When all the products are assigned to the pickings, click the SPLIT button in the right bottom corner of the screen.
This will close the screen and create the required number of picking tasks in the Picking screen.
