PULPO WMS allows batch processing of orders, thus enhancing the efficiency and speed of your warehouse operations.
After creating a batch-picking task with pre-fetched shipping labels, you must pick the products and process the related packing tasks.
Batch picking with the pre-fetched labels
Processing a batch picking with teh pre-fetched labels does not differ from a regular picking task. You have to follow the steps listed below:
Accept the task
Scan the location
Scan the product
Confirm the quantity
Repeat steps 2-4 until done
Assign the finished tasks to the packing position and close the picking task
After this, PULPO WMS will create a packing task for each picked order and assign them to the previously selected picking position.
You can process the tasks one by one or, more efficiently, use the batch packing functionality.
Batch packing of orders with the pre-fetched labels
To accept all the packing tasks for a packing position, scan the packing position by clicking on the Barcode Scanner Icon in the upper right corner of the Packing Tasks screen.
You will be asked to accept all tasks for the scanned packing position. Declining this suggestion will allow processing the packing tasks one by one.
Batch printing option
If all the orders in the packing location are for the same SKU and have a quantity of 1, you will be offered the option to batch-print the pre-created labels for all orders stored in this packing location.
If all your products are the same, you don't need to care about matching orders to customers, so you can print the labels in bulk.
You will not see this dialogue if any of the labels are missing. This can happen, for example, when you don't pre-fetch labels, but only have the "Create shipping box automatically for single item orders" setting enabled. If some of the orders have an address error that prevents them from receiving a label, bulk packing will not be possible.
Important preconditions for the bulk label printing:
All orders in the packing location contain the same SKU
All quantities for the orders are 1
All packing boxes have labels attached
After accepting the bulk printing option, you will see the label printing screen. If the auto-print option is enabled, the labels will print automatically
After printing all labels and clicking READY, depending on the setting, you will either be asked to scan a shipping location, or all packing tasks and the related orders will be finished.
Regular batch packing option
If the orders in the packing position don't meet the conditions described above, you will be asked to scan a product currently located in the packing position.
If the option "Create shipping box automatically for single item orders" is enabled in your system, you will see that the product is already packed, and will be taken to the printing screen

After printing the label and clicking READY, depending on the setting, you will either be asked to scan a shipping location or will be asked to scan the next product, and the next packing task will start.
The process must be repeated until all packing tasks for the packing position are processed.
