You can add up to 20 charts to a completely new dashboard, or to an existing dashboard. From the Reports menu, choose which option best suits your needs between Existing Dashboards or Create Dashboards.

  • If you choose to Create a Dashboard, you will be first presented by the option to either create a new Dashboard from Scratch or Create from a Template

  • Once you’ve chosen your preferred option, click on Start Now or Use Template.

  • Selecting either option will enable you to start adding any of the available Standard Charts, Custom Charts or Free Text Chart to that dashboard.

  • The charts you choose to add to your dashboard can be personalised to your reporting needs, looking at a single profile, entire brand or multiple channels from several different brands in your brandset.

Adding new charts to a Dashboard

  • You can add charts to a new dashboard or to an existing dashboard, bearing in mind that there is a limit of 20 charts permitted per dashboard.

  • If you have an existing dashboard already set up, you will always see the "Add Chart" option, until you've reached the maximum of 20 charts allowed.

Selecting profiles to populate a chart

  • In order to populate both Standard Charts or Custom charts, you will need to choose the profiles or brands you would like to report on first.

  • This is because data availability on CORE differs by channel (Instagram, Facebook, X, etc), and whether or not a specific profile is collecting public insights or private insights.

  • Therefore the first step when adding a new chart is always to select and specify the profiles or channels you would like to gather your insights from and visualise first, before adding any charts to your dashboard.

In this step, you can combine the profiles in several different ways:

  • Single profile from any brand within a brandset.

  • Whole brand or multiple brands.

  • Same channel across multiple brands, for example all Instagram profiles, all Facebook profiles, across brands A, B and C.

Private data vs. Public data

  • CORE allows you to collect both public and private insights across multiple channels.

  • We’ve made sure this functionality stays intact in custom dashboards, offering you the choice to create an entire dashboard or a single chart looking at private or public data.

  • That said, private and public data cannot be combined in a single chart.

  • Should you wish to create a chart using private data from any of your plugged in profiles, use the toggle in the top right corner to switch between Public and Private insights.

Standard Charts explained

Standard charts are a group of visualisations already available on CORE - from the Brand Overview, Content Section, Audience Section, etc. Adding Standard Charts to a new or existing dashboard is straightforward.

  • Click the “Add Chart” button and then choose “Standard Charts”.

  • In the Brand step of the workflow, proceed to select the profiles or brands you would like to report on and click “Next Step”.

  • Note, there is currently a limit of 10 profiles that you can select to view in a chart.

  • The following step will open up a modal with the different sections on CORE from where you want to pick your Standard Charts.

  • All the visualisations that are currently available on CORE will be shown here and can be added to any dashboard.

Quick Note: Some pages and charts might be greyed out as you go through the adding chart workflow. This is because some CORE charts are only available when looking at a single profiles or when looking at Private data like Demographics.

Additionally, certain charts are specific to a channel so if the profiles you have selected in the first step are not in applicable, you will find these charts greyed out. Lastly, some charts have limitations on how much data can be visualised, and whether or not the data is aggregated or separated by profile.

  • Select the section and charts you want and continue with the workflow until you reach the “Summary” step.

  • Here, you will get a preview of the chart and how it will appear in your dashboard or report.

  • You can update the chart title and add description if needed.

  • Once you click Save, the standard chart will be added to your dashboard.

Custom Charts explained

If Standard charts are not your preference or maybe you want to mix it up, you have the option to create and add Custom Charts. Custom charts are simple data views that you can create and customise based on specific filters or segments you want to visualise.

  • After you’ve clicked the “Add Chart” button and selected the Custom Charts option, you’ll be prompted to choose the Profiles or Brands you want to report on.

  • Select up to 10 profiles (public or private) and then click on "Next Step"

  • Then choose the option to create your custom chart from scratch.

  • The custom chart options available are: Spline (area or line chart), Bar (vertical or horizontal), Stacked Bar (vertical or horizontal), Pie (regular pie or doughnut).

Building a Custom Chart

  • Select your chart type as shown above.

  • Navigate down to the bottom where you're prompted to specify what you want to visualise (Segment), and what should be captured (Filters).

  • Add as many segments and filters as you need and then click on the next step.

  • This next window will give you a preview of your custom chart and if you're happy hit save!

Free Text Charts explained

Free Text charts are exactly as the name suggests, charts where you can add summaries and insights, which is useful if you're sharing reports with other users or clients not familiar with CORE. The chart has various options to edit the font type, font style and layout, as shown below. You can add as many Free Text charts as necessary but these typically precede a collection of Standard charts or Custom charts to provide additional context.

Now that you've got a better handle of the various chart options available, head over to our collection on FAQs for more details about what's available in CORE Reports and some of the limitations you need to be aware of.
