We are introducing two powerful enhancements in the latest update to the Narratives AI:

  1. Improved Narrative Clustering

  2. Macro & Micro Narrative View

These updates provide a more efficient way to track and analyze conversations by reducing fragmented data, offering better noise reduction, and delivering both high-level and detailed views of emerging narratives. This allows you to explore long-running trends and also focus on specific events with greater precision.

Improved Narrative Clustering

This update introduces an advanced clustering algorithm that enhances how conversations are grouped and analysed. It reduces narrative fragmentation, making it easier to follow complete conversations and trends.

Key Benefits:

  • Continuous Narrative Tracking: Narratives can now span periods of low or no data, giving you the ability to track them over time without losing continuity.

  • Reduced Fragmentation: Similar topics discussed over the same time frame will be automatically linked into a single narrative, providing a more cohesive and comprehensive view.

How It Works:

  • The improved clustering is now available by default to all searches, meaning every narrative you explore will include these new enhancements.

  • With reduced fragmentation, charts and themes are more unified, helping you identify key narratives with greater clarity.

Macro & Micro Narrative View

We’ve added a new Macro & Micro Narrative feature, allowing you to switch between broader, long-term trends and detailed, event-specific narratives based on your analysis needs.

Key Benefits:

  • Macro Narratives:

    • Offers a high-level view of broader conversations.

    • Allows you to observe long-term patterns over weeks or months, helping to identify major trends.

  • Micro Narratives:

    • Provides a view of narratives focused on more granular discussions such as specific events or topics, making it easier to track real-time conversations and daily developments.

    • Allows for the identification of emerging narratives based on the most recent data (up to the previous day).

How It Works:

  • When conducting a search, you can now toggle between Macro and Micro narratives.

  • The toggle includes the count of narratives in each of the views so that you can quickly see how much data is available.

  • By default, the Macro view will be selected, letting you see a high-level view of the narratives matching your search

  • With the Macro view selected, you will see data grouped by weekly intervals, helping you to visualise the data over longer periods of time

  • With the Micro view selected, you will see data grouped by daily intervals, helping you focus on recent events and more granular topics.

Best Practices for Using Macro & Micro Narratives

  • Micro Narratives:

    • Best for analysis of recent events, issues with a narrow focus, or niche topics.

    • Useful for tracking conversations that occurred over the past few days or weeks.

  • Macro Narratives:

    • Perfect for analysing long-term trends and understanding the broader context of conversations.

    • Helps identify thematic arcs and narrative evolution over time.

  • Compare Macro & Micro Narratives:

    • Use both views to understand how specific events fit into broader conversations and how short-term developments influence long-term trends.

We love feedback, and chatting with us in the bottom right corner is the perfect way to do so. Let us know how Narratives AI is working for you, and if there's any enhamcements you want to see in the future!
